Tomorrow is my wife & I's 15th wedding anniversary

& she has said " NO PRESENTS" , on account of lots of bills, Christmas expenses etc. We are going out to a fancy restaurant tomorrow but I still wanted to get her something

So I got some chocolates & flowers(ya just can't miss with those 2

I don't get flowers at all

). I reckon I will be in trouble for doing the right thing

.

I know she has not gotten me anything but I more than OK with that as I seem to get 'spontaneous' presents quite regularly in the mail

, once Oz Customs have given them a damned good pok though

. I have a rather nice set of US made Gerber One Handed Opening 'flowers' that are over due

. Wouldn't it be sweetttt if my Gerber DPSF & PE EZ Out FINALLY arrived tomorrow

. 'Here ya go darls chocolate + colourful composte for you & LOVERLY sharpies for me

not too mention the large Case Sodbuster that Customs surely can not object too

It sounds very simple to you, BUT, if you get her something and she gets you nothing it may seem to her (woman...) that you did it, breaking your agreement, to make her look bad, feel quilty etc.

Maybe if you agreed on a present up to $5 you will save money and still be able to buy something...

Of course the highlight of the day for you will be the Gerber, naturally..

Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs Mat!

Kim and I aren't far behind you- we passed the 12 year mark last June. Kim and I buy things for eachother throughout the year so we generally don't go to a lot of effort for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries etc- usually just a night out, which again, we do often enough anyway!

As for getting your wife something, tell her what I tell my wife. I always point out that with the amount of smurf she puts me through, every morning she wakes up because I haven't smothered her in her sleep is my way of saying "I love you."

Definitely get her the choccies and overpriced hay fever provokers (I don't do flowers either) and tell her she'll just have to make up for it in bouncey bouncey time

Guess what arrived yesterday whilst I was at work

My parcel with the Gerber EZ Out & Large Case Sodbuster

BUT minus the Gerber DPSF

Customs have seized it

. Apparently I will receive a formal "Notice of Seizure" shortly

, I suspect the DPSF has failed Customs INSANE "Flick Knife" test. I thought being a lock-back the DPSF's blade would have enough initial resistance too not be 'flicked' open

I guess being a larger blade their is a far bit of inertia in the blade & with enough practise those smurfers in Customs can get a lot of force into the wrist flick

.

I will make some enquiries but to formally contest a seizure involves going to court , which is expensive & if you loose(high chance of loosing as customs wrote the very dodgy laws on knife importation

) you risk a HUGE fine. For a $20 it is a BIG commitment. If I had a lazy $20,000 & was made of money I would certainly give it a go but I don't & I ain't

We had a really nice dinner BTW

Get a big maglite and stick the knife inside since it has " no batteries" allowed to ship just mark as large pocket tool. Not saying do something wrong just saying
