Absolutely!   . I'd say moving to the lightweight Swisschamp (compared to the Workchamp) will help too my friend
I wish the Workchamp had some sort of ruler.  Victorinox, please listen!  We've got all sorts of ideas :D

You know, Swiss Champ is cool and all, but if I’d have to choose one Vic - It’d still be my Work Champ :)

As for the ideas - ruler is a must for sure on a Work Champ and please finally give us nylon plus scales both for 111 and 91 mm

Face it - you’ve missed me, right?
Happy to hear that you're doing as best you can under smurfty circumstances. Looks like you're getting some good use out of the SwissChamp, too! :tu:

Mechanic in the pocket today. Large blade cut some strawberries, small blade opened a box. Cap lifter to pry open a can of glue, and the can opener was used to affix a key ring to a different SAK. Also used the pliers to fish a needle out of a catch-all jar. Just a standard SAK day  :D

Thank you my friend

I do enjoy my new Swiss Champ - an almost perfect urban friend, though feels like a Work Champ will remain the one for me

I’d gladly participate in a Swiss Champ challenge with you guys to obtain a more solid usage  experience and better appreciate this awesome SAK

I've always said a 111mm Fisherman would be a great idea, especially if they could make a fillet-type blade for it. I think the size would be better for cleaning fish than a 91mm. That's why most fishing knives are bigger than four inches closed--often closer to 5.  Thus, a scaled-up fish scaler tool.

Well I’ve got a confession to make

I may have been too carried away lately stocking different kinds of useful things for whatever scenario may happen soon, including SAKs, of course - better safe than sorry in case sales will be terminated and one will only be able to use money as a tinder

So now I guess I’m having all those with me and at least me and my close ones are well supplied with the best tools money can buy - now I know that from experience. So in case I’ll have to cook in the field, build shelters or fix anything I possibly could - I’ll be ready.

As for the Spirit X - I denied the idea of buying it for quite a few years. I’ve checked it out at the stores, again dismissed it due to it’s short main blade, seemingly soft blade steel, inability to disassemble and replace broken tool parts in case I’d ever need to, lack of bit adapters - all the bases pretty well covered by my Wave.

But I left my Wave and all it’s accessories at home plus from a quality stand point you all now the difference between LM and Vics. Plus Vic steel is really rust resistant and the edge won’t chip unlike the one LM uses - super important for the long survival situations. So when I found this awesome kit on Amazon 100$ cheaper than in Ukraine - I decided not to wait any longer

Alexanderre, if I were in your shoes, a Spirit and either a Swisschamp or Workchamp is exactly what I'd have on me.  Better too many than not having one.  Stay safe!

Nice score, Alexanderre! As relatively recent convert to the SwissTool Spirit, I have to say I’m hooked - I have one for use (with the ratchet kit) and a black oxide one for show! Having previously used LMs, I have to say I’m impressed by the Vics! :tu:

Oh, Rizio, I hear you - I’ve been a 101% LM fan before actually trying Victorinox tools. I bough a Forester first at a local hiking gear store, went on Tour du Mont Blanc hike with it - nice and light to carry around, large enough blade cuts vegs and bread in one go and therefore ladies kept asking “for that cool sharp black knife” while cooking all the time (our instructor had a Wave btw that he never really used there)
Then I took that forester to the top of Mont Blanc - it saved the day when one of our team members had a cheapo headlight that got a loose screw at night when we started our ascent and those headlights were our only light sources- I used a can opener / flathead screwdriver to fix it right there in no time.

All that time my LMs stayed at home because I knew they’ll get rusty if I wash them up in a melting creek.

Then I bought a Work Champ - my precious . By that moment no questions left for me and my use case scenarios in terms of Vic vs LM

I started out the same way.  It was a PST that brought me to the Forum.  I then picked up a Rebar, several Super Tools, etc.  I tried a Swisstool out and the rest is history . I have both a full size Swisstool RS and a Spirit, and the Spirit is every bit as rugged as the RS.  I carry the RS at work mainly for the ruler, which I use for my job.  Both are incredible.  Victorinox has treated my family and I incredibly well as far as warranty work goes, do I'm very partial to the brand.  That and I carried a Huntsman exclusively for 32 years so I definitely know the toolset.

Yep, can’t go wrong with Victorinox
Unlike most of what we buy and use today Victorinox tools will last for as long as we need them if used properly - that’s one of the key reasons to buy for me

In the past few days, I've used the bottle opener to open a bottle of Mexican Coke with dinner and the package opener to open some plastic wrapping on a box after grocery shopping.

I'm on board with Vic quality. I started out with LMs and sold all of them and I've only rocked a Spirit the last few years or so. I sent one in for warranty work on the scissors and had nothing but a great experience.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I might be crazy but it's kept me from going insane- Waylon Jennings

I’ve been cutting paracord with the SwissChamp this afternoon, making new fobs for some of my alox knives.

I went super simple with the FX fob. Gutted pine green cord. Kind of an overhand knot through the split ring, with the paracord melted and mushroomed on the end, to prevent it from coming loose. Then I stripped all the hardware from the Photon light, and hung it directly.

I Iike the look.  Very minimalist and uncluttered, just like the alox models themselves.
