Les Stroud Knife
on: December 16, 2012, 05:58:58 PM
Picked up the Les Stroud Mountain Survival knife today, seems pretty hefty,The only gripe I have is that the light did not work, but then again its not big enouph to be much use anyway.I like the firestarter and the built in sharpener. The spot for a length of paracord is a pretty handy feature. All in all I am pretty happy with it.

After messing around with it,I finally got the light to work,Firesteel and built in sharpener A+,Para cord and mirror are just ok. Looks like the butt end is pretty sturdy, all in all not bad for what i paid.

If I'm not mistaken arent they the same? The knkife itself is ok but if was going out into the wilderness I would definatly choose something different.

I think I want one now. Just because I am watching Survivorman and he is actually using his knife... The Straight edge version which i think is the Artic edition. If it is good enough for him to use on his show should be good enough to sit in my drawer and wait for me to use a handful of times a year when camping or hiking.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if somebody did a side by side with the bear grylls knife, wonder which one is the better of the two.

Did your friend have the BG?  :pok:
I'm very curious about how they compare to eachother.
