A great loss for science and literature, he'll be missed.
I loved the Rama series most out of all his work I think, they're the books that started me off reading sci-fi/fantasy and books in general when I was a kid.

Gary Gygax and Arthur C Clarke in the same week....
Sometimes it really sucks to be a dork.

I am big Arther C Clarke fan. I heard on radio on the ride home from work about him passing. Some of my favorite books of him are The Sands of Mars, A Fall of Moondust, and Imperial Earth. A true legend.

A great loss, but he did live a great and full life. To be honest though, I actually thought he died a couple years ago.
Next time you make or receive a cell phone call, check your GPS or listen to Satellite radio, salute him. He came up with the idea for geocentric orbit, among so many other things.

This was very sad news.
I need to watch 2001 again soon to pay homage to his greatness.
