Hoping everything is well with Terry
on: March 20, 2008, 12:13:48 AM
Our good buddy NutSAK had some surgery today- nothing life threatening, but I'm hoping it went well nonetheless.

He's got a bit of a road ahead of him with regards to recovery and I'm sure you are all with me when I wish him all the best.

WOW!  Thanks very much to all for the showing of support!  :)

I had ankle surgery on Wednesday of last week, and "recovered" at home for four days, and now I'm back at work.  The surgeon said everything looked great in there, so the healing process should go fine.

I've attached an illustration of what I had done (bimalleolar ankle fracture repair).  I am now part titanium!!

Ouch!!! I had a similar looking X-ray for a while. I broke my ankle too years ago and had metal in it for a while. I don't remember if it was titanium or what. It happened when I was in the army so they may have used pig iron that was spray painted silver.

My father was a Combat Engineer for the longest time- I was glad he was 1,000 miles away when I broke my ankle or I'd have a strip from a scrapped Grizzly and part of a rifle stock holding my leg together now!

Of course, now that I think of it, while it wouldn't be pretty, it'd probably work better than it does now!   :D
