Just bought a utilikey this weekend and it's made in china also (the demo they had was made is US as well as the rest of Swiss-Tech line in demo all US)and doesn't have any kind of number on it.  still a very nice addition to my keychain without any noticeable weight addage  seems to be well built as well.

You'll like it. Only problem is you will forget you have it! I once borrowed a friend's pen knife and then remembered I had my Utilikey hanging on my key ring in my pocket! Doh! :P

I think mine follows Stormedrane's "Patents Pending" version.

Mine is marked "Patented and Made in USA by LKL", with no number.

I realize this thread is old. I got one recently, though. Haven't weighed it yet, I need a scale that accurate. But mine is identical to the one in the pics, except it does not have any number on it, so they must have suspended that in the interim. I love it, though. Has gotten me out of more than one pickle. Nothing major, I don't mean it saved my life, or civilization as we know it, but it had more than paid for itself. LOL

Got it [EDITED] ....

Cheers...

All 3 of my Utili-Key's have no numbers on them. All are stamped: "Swiss Tech Utili-Key".

I have another piece of super-minutia to report though WRT the keychain pliers: mine are stamped "USA", but the straight-bladed handle is a different shape to the one pictured in the first post. Mine has a pronounced rounded reduction, seen here. They are a very chunky little tool, I carry one (or a Seber-Tech) in my bicycle repair kit, the wire cutters will cleanly cut a 2mm stainless brake cable, given sufficient leverage, with no damage to the cutter area. Astounding!

Dig up.

Thanks to Swiss+Tech I've got more info about this mysterious "UST".

"Dear Morris:

The Utili-Key you have is not a fake.  The Utili-Key with "UST" and "LKL Patents Pending" were made several years ago in the United State by LKL Innovations -- a company we took over.  Now the Utili-Keys are assembled in China but the parts are made in India, and in the USA.

Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thank you, Morris, for your interest in Swiss Tech Products
