Bear and sons tool value
on: February 03, 2013, 08:56:17 PM
I found two bear and sons tools, electricians I think, and I need to know if $64 is a good price.  I want to get them but I don't want to lose money on them.  This place is notorious for overpricing their stuff.   I might keep one but I would definitely sell one so is $64 overpaying?

That does seem as bit high for them. I have a few Bear Jaws tools and I don't think I spent more than $20 or $25 each. They weren't new though, but they might as well have been add they are in perfect condition.

I think you might have a hard time selling one for that much :-\ Price should be somewhere south of $50 IMO
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Yep the electricians aren't very common but I reckon $50 & under would be fair price

Thanks guys.  All I could remember is they were a tad hard to find but I couldn't remember a ballpark price.  I think I will pass on them.

Sounds around what I paid for them when I first found a place that carried them and their possibly-not-made-by-Bear sister Electrician models, where they want somewhere around $25 for the SwissBuck Esquire model, so yeah, rather pricey place to shop.  Even passing them on for at barely above cost, which is what I typically* do, just so others on here could get an interesting tool not too frequently seen, it took well over a year to get rid of them. :/

*Not always, but typically, unless it was just an insane find.
