My guess would be female as it has ports and no hangy bits designed to be occasionally squashed by a bike seat.I love my Nexus too- it is a great little rig, but it won't be replacing my laptop any time soon. I write a lot and I need a keyboard. Until they come up with a better input method than banging on a pile of buttons, I'll be stuck with a laptop.Still, for quick messages, watching Youtube or Netflix, some light surfing/forum browsing or reading a spreadsheet in the field the Nexus can't be beat.Def
And USB ports and an SD card slot....DefSent from my Motorola Atrix digital multitool.
My Nexus 7 Otterbox Defender arrived today! It doesn't feel too bulky, although it is significantly more robust than the Nexus in the buff. The outer cover can be taken off completely when not in use or clipped over the back of the unit so you don't have to go looking for it later. It also has a gold out thing so you can use it as a stand when watching YouTube, Netflix etc, or just for reading. It's not water tight so you probably wouldn't want to use of while scuba diving or adding realism to your Singin In The Rain Karaoke app, but it should protect better against it being placed in a puddle left by someone who doesn't know what a coaster is, or that drink that gets thrown at you when the Mrs sees what sites you've been viewing.Even better, it should protect nicely against drops, something my wonderfully wild puppy Eddie has made sure my Nexus has unfortunately experienced a few times. So far I'm quite pleased with it, as I expected I would be as I've got a Defender for my phone and my wife has one for her iPad. I wouldn't say it's for everyone given that it cost somewhere just south of $100 and that's an awful lot to protect a device that goes for about $250, but if your machine is in more than average danger of slips, falls, spills out other calamities then it might be worth looking into.DefSent from a digital multitool
