Unknown Gerber Tool
on: February 23, 2013, 09:27:02 PM
Gentleman,
I have a Gerber tool I just got in a lot of knives I bought. I have done as much research as I can but have not been able to ID this tool.
If any one can ID it, I would be very grateful.
Thank you,
John

Not only that, but it has the original style, hybrid-pliers head design. :)

Thank you all for the quick response. Does this mean it is an early tool, it has no Pat. number ?
TY once more,
John

Welcome to the forum UncleJohn.

J-Sews has some excellent posts in this thread showing some of the early versions of the Multiplier.  Gerber seems to have done lots of tinkering over time.

Gawd, I remember having one of those things. Cursed palm pincher! Lost it down the fender well of a '67 Cadillac. Bought a Leatherman Super Tool the next week. Never touched another Gerber since.   :D

Do you find that Leathermans defy gravity better than the old Gerbers?  :P

Thank you all for your in put I had no idea what I was getting into. It has never been used so I guess that makes it a NIB early piece ?
I am going to sell it on eBay . I would not be off if I said it was one of the first types put out ?
I don't want to get any hate mail by people who know what they are talking about on MT's.
You have all been great ! Thank you for all your help.
Regards,

Definitely an early-ish one, though not a first production run.
