Mike (micky d) and also Def both have them I believe.  Mike rates them pretty highly and I am sure will be along soon with a few thoughts.  :)

What can I say, it's the perfect knife :), out chops a medium sized axe (at least it does for me, but I'm not much of an axe man) can do every survival/bushcraft task you can think off. Holds it's edge forever and is easy to resharpen when you do eventually need too :)

I've got one of the older Carbon V ones, an in all honesty, if I could only have one knife this would be it :)

Here's mine with some friends...

Yeah it is expensive mate, but oh so worth it, you'd never need another knife :)

Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Thanks for the picture Def and Mickyd, how many inches are your blades? I saw other brands of kukiri but I think cold steel would be my target as it holds an edge (don't know how to sharpen knife properly). The cold steel kukiri is retailing for about 649 dollars, think in the end it will became a 700 dollar knife plus shipping  :(
I will be ordering a cool steel bushknife after my surge order arrive from edcdepo, if its good enough for benner its good enough for me  :D

I believe you are talking about the top end Kukri, the cheaper one is far far cheaper.  I can't remember how much Def got his for now, but it was nowhere near $649.

I think I know what you mean, there is a cold steel 13 inch kukiri for 16.95 dollars made of 1055 carbon steel, the expensive one is made of san mai steel I think. whats the difference of the steel is the cheaper ones good to? Are they the same steel bushmaster use?

Mine ran about $25 and is part of their machete series.  It won't hold an edge like the "good" one, but then isn't supposed to.  It's also much larger than the one Mike has pictured, despite Mike's being made much better.  I think they are made of Carbon V, and I don't think any are made in San Mai III, but I could be wrong.

The San Mai ones are scarily expensive because it's a laminated steel, you'd be far better off   trying to find a second hand Ghurka Kukri in Carbon V if you can find one :)

BTW 12 inch blade 17 inches overall :)

The cheaper ones are still bloody good knives in there own right, there just not quite as strong being 1/8 of an inch thick as opposed to 5/16ths like my one, having said that, there more effective at chopping and slashing because of there thiner profile :)
