Leatherman Juice colors?

I've looked but I can't seem to find a list of all the colors the Juice came in throughout the years. So I would, with help of you guys and gals try and make a list of models, colors and for whom they were made, maybe to be included in the wiki.multitool.org later.


So here's some of the info I learned on it over the years here. (feel free to correct or add to the list):

S2 - standard LM model
- Flame Orange (standard color)
- Storm Gray (standard color)
- red (UNKNOWN - made in 2008)
- blue (UNKNOWN - made in 2008)
- green (UNKNOWN - made in 2006)
- brown camo (Zen Imports Pty. Ltd - Australian distributor - made in 2002)
- green camo (Zen Imports Pty. Ltd - Australian distributor - made in [/size]2002)


C2 - standard LM model
- Inferno Red (standard color)
- Storm Gray (standard color)
- Dark Gray (almost black - came in a combo pack with a red Style - end of 2011)

SC2 - produced for Sam's Club
- blue (different from the Glacier Blue)
- red
- clear anodized/silver (only available on the SC2)

CS4 - standard LM model
- Glacier Blue (standard color)
- Storm Gray (standard color)

KF4 - standard LM model - discontinued in 2006
- Solar Yellow (standard color)
- Storm Gray (standard color)
- brown camo (Zen Imports Pty. Ltd - Australian distributor)
- green camo (Zen Imports Pty. Ltd - Australian distributor)
- translucent yellow plastic scales (part of a Salesman's kit - only two ever made)
 
XE6 - standard LM model
- Thunder Purple (standard color)
- Storm Gray (standard color)

PRO - produced for Costco
- Storm Gray (standard color)

I prematurely posted.    I accidently pressed post instead of preview and went to grab something to eat. There were still some edits to be made, there still are a few, but what the heck. I forgot to add the translucent KF4 to the list.



Only one I've ever seen, owned by our very own Bob. The info we have is that it was part of a kit made for salesmen to advertise the new Juice line back in 2001. Date code is 0401.





Also, since January 2011 the scales are laser etched with a new style LEATHERMAN logo

Any info you might have on the red, blue or green S2 Juices would be welcome. How the colors compare to the standard Inferno Red or Glacier Blue, for whom they were made, ...

I only saw one green Juice, the one Dan has in his collection and would love to know where it came from.

If I remember correctly, you used to own a red S2. Where did you get that one?

the green Juice in Dan's collection came from me.    I got it at the Leatherman factory a few years ago when they had their one-time-only "warehouse sale" -- basically cleaning out a bunch of inventory, IIRC.  I grabbed one because I liked the color, but after awhile, Dan's collection seemed like a better home for it. 

anyway, I have some closeup pics at home that I can post if you're interested.  haven't seen another one since then.

I didn't realize there were so many variations of the Juice colors.  I've always been curious as to how the Juice line came to be and whether or not they released all the various models around the same time or gradually.  And a big curiosity:  Why the KF4 is the only Juice model to have been retired so far (not sure if the SC2 counts since you say it was produced for Sam's Club).  IMHO the KF4 is the best Juice model (I also own the S2 and XE6) for the total package (the S2 is right up there too).  Although I would probably prefer scissors in place of the saw, I'm undecided as Juice scissors aren't the greatest and can be hit or miss.  While the saw can be useful and you never know when you may need one, I think scissors are more useful in daily life.  Also, if I'm going to be hiking or in any situation where a saw may be more likely to get use, I probably wouldn't be carrying a Juice, but rather a full sizer like my Charge TTi, Rebar or Spirit, or my Colombian Sawback machete

Really? I thought he had that one long before you joined here. Oh, well, can't remember everything. I'd love to see some more pictures of it. Do you have any more info on it? You say it was old stock, do you know who ordered this run? Or when? Did it come in a box, clam shell, ... any writings on them or a date code of the tool? ...

He did... I hadn't joined MTo yet, but Dan posted some of his pics on the LM FB page, so I contacted him via FB.  I ended up helping him get a couple of the other tools in his collection too.    I didn't discover this fine forum until roughly a year later. 

Sadly, I have very little info on the green S2.  They were literally sitting in a bin at the warehouse sale -- no packaging, no paperwork, nothing.  There might be a date code; I'll check my pics when I post them later tonight, but we might have to ask Dan.  It could have been a special run for a specific retailer, or it could have just been some employees playing around with the color combinations for the scales... no idea.

You have both red C2 and SC2, right? Are the colors the same? I know the blue SC2 and CS4 are not. Still waiting on the confirmation on the blue S2.

Indeed... had a friend get it from ebay US for me. Sold it here when we were auctioning stuff to raise money for someone.

enki_ck Here is a pic of the blue S2, CS4 and SC2. In the pic they all look very similar to me. Looking at them at different angles and lighting is where I can see some difference.

My SC2 is definitely a bit darker than the CS4. The weird part is one handle on both sides is darker than the other and it appears yours is the same way, at least it looks that way in the pic. Is this true? Hopefully Gareth will chime in as he also has a blue SC2. I'll try to take some pics of the two tomorrow in natural lighting if the weather permits it.

I don't have a blue S2, but I'll try to get a pic of my blue SC2 and CS4 in natural light this weekend as well.

If you look at one of my photos posted in this thread, you can clearly see two shades of blue.

enki_ck the above photo was taken out side in full sun shine. It really doesn't show the differences.  When you hold them in your hand and look at them it is more obvious. The S2 is the lightest in color followed by the CS4 with the SC2 being a little darker than the other two. The corkscrew side of thew SC2 does appear to be a little darker than the other side.

I took pics inside and outside just to be safe.   My SC2 is the other way around. The corkscrew side is lighter in color.

I was browsing the Aussie ebay searching for you know what when I saw these pictures.


Does this gray look darker than Storm Gray? I can only find stock pictures of it though and most of them are from .au sites. Was there or is there a darker shade of the S2 like we had with the C2?

You have to watch out. I have seen quite a few C2s on eBay that looked like the darker version...but weren't due to lighting when taking the photo. That made finding one a lot harder online.

Interestingly I think the corkscrew scale on my SC2 is just a shade darker than the others, though not nearly as obvious as on the others I'm seeing here.

So were three for three with the different shades of scales. Weird.
