 Honestly I would not even consider taking something like that on a plane.  Well it itself might not be illegal you will have to get it passed a bunch of people who do not have any sense of humor.  You can end up with a whole lot of trouble over something that is really not all that important.  I'm not going to restrict my future or my travel over a pocket knife, or rather some doofus in uniform with a god complex.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- it's not worth messing with the TSA.  There's too much to lose and nothing really to gain, and the whole mess is stacked very much against you.  I don't for a moment think you should roll over and give up, but the airport is not where you want to have that battle.

Air travel should decrease in the coming decades anyhow.. well become very expensive and more of a hassle.  Half the operating costs of an airline is fuel, and they will be getting more and more expensive.  Its not like you can have a solar powered plane, or hybrid.. or plug in.. I wonder what someone will figure out for alternative energy for that...
