Saving an Ipod from work life
on:
June 17, 2013, 09:21:48 AM
I work as a Janitor / Facility Manager and with new laws and EU regularies I will need to document certain points concerning the condition of houses/stairways and safety equipment (Fire extinguishers, escape lighting...) on a monthly basis.
To save us from drowning in Paperwork, our Company bought an App based Software where I can check boxes "virtually" and leave notes on a server which will synchronize with the Software in the administration office. (We own and maintain about 3.100 apartments/flats in a few hundred houses and i am responsible for the technical condition and day-to day problems of 411 of them and their tenants).
While this is a nice App which seems to work rather well, i fear for the Ipad that i will be using for this task.
I carry a bag with a small assortment of tools and stuff i usually need on a regular basis and this bag is no environment for an Ipad. I will need to work in the rain (Bummer!) and i might bump the bag or Ipad into walls or door knobs.
Now I am looking for a case to protect the Ipad. It shouldn´t be too expensive as my Boss won´t shell out half the Ipads price for a case.
Any suggestions or first hand experiences?

Looking good.
Does anybody own an Ipad? Do i need a scratch protective film on the display?
My favourite so far was the Lifeproof case - Until i saw the pricetag.

Isn't cheap, but quite a bit cheaper than the lifeproof... Don't have it myself, so I don't know how it performs, though

I gotta say I swear by the Otter boxes. I got one for my wifes iPad Mini, I have one for my phone and one for my Nexus 7.
And when I get ready to buy my next phone I won't pick one up unless there's already an Otter box available for it.

I need to find out WHAT iPad we have and then look into teh cases - Otterbox and griffin both look good to me - We´ll see what my boss says (Probably something like "Don´t drop it").

I'll second Grant with Otter Box; I have a Defender series case for my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, which does add definite thickness and weight to the tablet, but cocoons it safely, too.

I don't worry about any device when its locked in an Otterbox. And considering the smurf my devices go through, that's saying a lot.

We got the griffin for the iPad 2, it's proved to be baby proof, in my book it is therefore indestructible!

Otterbox here too as well. i don't have a tablet but my iphone5 has seen a fair share of drops and gets a bit of water on it all without a problem. id imagine the case for ipad would be just as great, they are a bit pricey to me but worth it.
