Need Feedback on Sharpener..

   I am probably going to have to sharpen my Victorinox Recruit at some point down the road. I found this while wandering around Lowes:

   Would this do the trick or save up for something better?

From what I have read and been told, stay away from ones with metal sharpening guides.  Find one that has just ceramic and if you want a pocket one, look at the Lansky one below. LCKEY is the model and you can remove the ceramics to clean them.

If you want something better, look at Spyderco Sharpmaker for around $55 or the Lansky 4 rod sharpener for about $20.

hello there sir_mike, I've used this for quite some time but it's not something that you can use for a blade that has somewhat flattened or folded- that will require soome good sharpening stones as you might have already known. this will be perfect if the purpose is just to help you touch up an already sharp blade or polish an edge after you sharpen it with a fine stone or with tungsten carbide
