Just a sec Al, that line is pointing at Scotland, not England. ;)  Though we call it whisky, not 'scotch', never come to Scotland and ask for a scotch, you'll likely not get a nice warming alcoholic beverage. :D

Didn't the Dutch invent gin?

Hey, wine was invented in Greece. Where is Greece anyway?
Balkan peninsula has one of the lowest rate for alcoholism in the western world btw. But we are working on it :) .

I was referring to the variety of alcoholic drinks available. 100 different kinds of rakija/palinka, ... ;)

Ahem ....

Yes, if you extend it to the UK, then we have many of the finest whiskeys in the world ... but ...

Well yeah, but we assimilated it and claimed it as our own, just like tea   >:D

Is this more accurate? It contains Cognac, Rum and Ouzo at least.
Hey, Mead is from Skandinavia, not England, according to map. You had among the greatest minds there, such as Newton and a long line of inventors. How come they didn't invent an original beverage?

Nothing wrong with taking someone elses ailing efforts and making it wonderful. Victorinox seems to have done quite well in that respect with both multipurpose pocket knives and pliers based multitools  ;) Besides, not all genius has to involve creating something completely from scratch. After all, Newton didn't INVENT gravity  ;) :D :D

Don't forget also the Scandinavians came over and kicked our arses around a bit a few years back, so we assimilated their wine and claimed it as our own  :D Useless fact for those who don't already know - the phrase honeymoon comes from the act of drinking mead (honey wine) for a month (moon) after marriage to aid fertility ..... though I would have thought it would have the opposite effect. If I was drinking that stuff for a month, I'd probably be too rat arsed to know what I was doing, and I'd be sticking it everywhere bar where it should be, if indeed it was physically capable of being stuck anywhere at all

This map was obviously drawn by someone in a dronken state ...
Have you seen where he or she put the "fancy beer made by monks"  ?     :viking:

No, they gave us Belgians Jäger,  this topic is starting to get really offensive all the sudden

Well, offending everyone has been the intention of this thread, so if anybody has missed out on being offended speak up now and give us the opportunity to rectify the omission

Except the distribution of perils could do with some work, lots more croc's, snakes and spiders.
