Bear Grylls Esacpe from Hell
on: October 13, 2013, 09:02:19 PM
I just watched episode one of this new show, and it was surprisingly good. You learn about three different groups surivival stories thourgh very good dramatisations and interviews with the survivors, and learn related survival tricks from Bear in between. In my opinion it is the best show he has made to date.  :tu:
Bear shows off his gear as usual ofcourse.  He really knows how to build a brand name.

I can't really fault the man for making his money while he can, can't see him being at the top of his game into his old age !
(i'm a bit of a 'fan' but SSsshh it's a secret  ;))

:D

I have a feeling that he will still be making truckloads of cash selling books, gear and giving speechees when he becomes too old for TV stunts.

I don't watch tv so didn't know about him till I saw all the hype with gerber tools.  Our library had a copy of his autobiography which I just finished reading.  It was quite good and I would recommend it.

I read it too John and I also liked it. I've never watched his show other than the odd clip on You Tube though. Not my kind of show.

Mud, sweat and tears  was a surprisingly good biography. I quite liked it, and got a lot more respect for Bear after reading it.

I expected it would be full of hype about how wonderful he was etc. but it wasn't.  He really spent quite a bit of the book describing the physical part of sas selection - it was pretty interesting.  Also the bits about his political relatives were quite funny in places.

I've always though Mr Grylls would make a good 'dinner guest', he seems to have a sense of humour and not take himself too seriously ..... and after watching him eat/drink all that smurf he could hardly complain about the food you served
