Depends. What are sou searching for? Single or multiple mods. Lots of output or longer runtime? Body material?

Some of the popular ones are the Olight i3 or the Maratac variations of it, fenix ld01, thrunite ti, or maybe for a bit more cash, the peak led solutions eiger. More expensive but bombproof.

Not many companies offer more than 12 month warranty.  None that I can think of TBH.

The Olight i3 is a good one for sure, as is the Thrunite Ti.

There is a 2 year full warranty on that EO5, and a limited lifetime warranty where you pay for parts.

I like the Fenix EO1.  Its only about US$15, is regulated to run somewhere in the range of 10 hours, with several more hours of diminishing light after that.  Its not super bright, but in a dark environment just a few lumens seems like a lot.  But the flat runtime is awesome.

No idea on guarantee but the Tank007 E09 is good, 3 modes, takes all aaa size batteries.
The Ultrafire E05 also seems good, but I have not tested it long enough and I have no idea on guarantee.
The Tank007, I know, is solid.

They both should get some sort of guarantee from the sellers at least and are cheap.
See my post in the review section for some pictures.
Also there are some threads here that should also help.

I can only compare the E05 and the Solitaire and I'd go for another E05.

Let us know how you get on with the Thrunight.

for some reason i thought it was one year.
I'm under 2 years so I'm going to try and get a new one.
I called the warranty dept but they are closed.
thanks for the info.

Hello,

New member here. Probably the minority, and probably not "the best", but I recently bought a 2-AAA silver MagLite LED ($20) to replace the kubaton on my keychain. Impressively bright, good run time, simple twist on/off, TSA friendly, and a perfect dimensional replacement to the kubaton. A welcome new edition to my EDC gear. Now I can thrash -and- illuminate, although I suspect only illumination will be required. ::)

I recently encountered a three-car rollover a few nights ago on a local highway. I was able to use the light to scan cars for trapped passengers, and also warn approaching drivers coming around the curve a few hundred yards away. A good start to a lifetime of service  :salute:

I like the 2xAAA mini-maglite as well, and I'm very glad to hear it's done you such good service already, but for me it's just too long to go on my keys.  My one lives in my Maxpedition mini orgainiser at the moment. :)

Another vote for the Tank007 E09.  I've had it on my keychain just short of two years, and it's never had any type of problems.

I've got a Fenix E01, Fenix LD01, and Olight i3.  I definitely like the multi-mode lights better than single mode.

Between the LD01 and i3, I'm not sure I could pick a clear winner based on my own experience.  However, if you believe the published run times, it looks like the LD01 would beat out the i3 based on that.

edit:  120 lumens out of a 1xAAA light...I might have to try one of those tank007 E09s

I put my old LD01 on my keychain.
only having one mode sucks.
LD01 rocks.
