Yeah, but you can carry a folder with it. I use the mt blades for scappers and the such.

This.  There are only two MT's that I carry that see regular knife use, my Octane and my ALX.  And even then, I'm more likely to use a SAK or slippie for cutting than them.  When carrying an MP, a PST, MPT, Fuse, or whatever, I go to whatever folder I'm carrying first.  SAKs and MT's are there more for the tools than the blades.  I'll just keep repeating to myself, "I'm not a multitool guy, I'm a knife guy" while ignoring 40+ SAKs and more Gerbers, LMs, SOGs, etc than I care to admit to......  ;)
My BM 531 or Spyderco FRN Native are my carry folders but I don't always carry one.

At the least there's a slipjoint on me at all times.  That's a habit I got into a long time ago.  There's usually an OHO folder too, but not always.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

The BM is the easiest to handle/open/close and the blade is good for many functions.

Think...hope...!, I've just ordered a MP600ST. Odd Amazon listing...shows a normal 600, but description is of the sight tool! Anyway,at £38,I can complain!

I hope it is what you think it is. :)  Looking forward to hearing about it.

I received a Gerber Multilite. It came in a Gerber sheath with additional Bit kit and adaptor.

I hoped it would be a used one so I would not be afraid to use it (like the NIB one I got from ZED).
Shows that the new oen looks unused, too.
Anyways, I´ll let the NIB one go now as I am no collector and want tools I can use.

I think about adding a big flat driver to the Multilite (and loose the can opener) and see if one can find a brighter LED. And the smooth back might be a good place to mount a pocket clip. but that is a story for another thread.
Or maybe I´ll steal its plain edge blade to complete my MP 600 FPR?! We´ll see.

I've been tempted by them on eBay but haven't acted on this one yet.

There are 2 turnoffs for me:

1) The part-serrated blade and;
2) I have no use for the sight tool.

Although partially serrated, I do like the blade as it is a fair bit longer than standard MP 600 ones - A plain edge of this size and a serrated one like on standard MP600s would be a good combo, IMHO.
You are right that there really is no use for the sight tool in civilian life.
The longer Phillips is brilliant, though.
All in all, my old MP 600 Scout did win and I do not carry the MP 600 ST.

I can almost forgive the part-serrated blade but that sight tool is taking up so much space where they could put a file. I like the file...

I don't think so because of the cutout in the handle for the site-tool which I would be removing.

Well,the Gerber arrived!

....and :ahhh :ahhh

It's a standard 600

I checked the add again, and it does describe a ST.

Hmmmm. I'm in two minds

Do I keep it?(I gifted the bladeless 600 to my flatmate when he started his new rep-ing job)

Do I do a Diesel/600 hybrid?

Do I send it back for a credit?

Well, £38 is an OK price for a normal MP600, but if it's not what you want then I'd probably send it back as it isn't what was described.  Either way it's worth informing them of the mistake in the listing.

And Bob has an excellent eye. I think Loki has uncovered a new (to me, at least) variant on the version 1 Mr Pinchy    .  All 4 of my v1s ( FPR and non-FPR) have the missing cut-outs and mismatched nail nicks the same as Bob's.

Yet another variant to keep an eye out for [sigh .....]

And found :D  - sooner than I thought AND cheaper too, bonus !   :tu:

And today I got a 4th variant of the Version 1 Mr Pinchy !!  From looking at photos I think some MTo members have this variant but they haven't noticed the difference (yet)   ;)

So now there are (at least)

V1.0  FPR (First Production Run marking) with only 1 cut-out per handle
( nail nicks on the wrong side of the blades and in the wrong place anyway )

V1.1  (standard production - no FPR marking) with only 1 cut-out per handle
(  nail nicks on the wrong side of the blades and in the wrong place anyway )

V1.2  (standard production - no FPR marking) with only 1 cut-out per handle
( nail nicks on the right side of the blades and in the correct place )

V1.3  (standard production - no FPR marking) with 2 cut-outs per handle
( nail nicks on the right side of the blades and in the correct place )

So, any advance on 4 variants ?   :pok:

(these early Mr Pinchy's are getting a bit like early PSTs with all the different variants - except they are MUCH cheaper to buy  :D  )

I know there is one, bu I can´t find the thread listing the Mr. Pinchy variants - I´m trying to date my 2 and the Fiskars Pinchy I got.
Oh, I hacve to say something on topic, too! The last Gerbert I got was a Strata I received in a trade.
It now resides in a Skinth P3 together with an Olight  I3 and an Pilot G2 Mini Pen as my Grab and Go for teh day (they are rare, but they do occur) when I don´t carry my MP 600.
