Started out at SOSAK and SAKWicki. I don't really post much but I do read a bunch of posts. Well I am mainly an SAK guy but I do have a few MT's as well. My favorite collected SAK's are the smaller 58 and 74mm range but I do love the larger knives as well. While I love the Alox knives my EDC's are usually cellidor or nylon handled.  I EDC a Compact or a Mountaineer and usually a signature lite or classic model.  More photos soon to come of some of my collection.

Can't get the image to show up....... :-[

My first post was one where I voted on a poll.    Voted for a farmer.

Months before the first post, I won my first ever knife over on SOSAK because there were no members over here named Martin.  Neil went over there looking for a Martin because he had an awesome Vic with the name Martin on the blade.  I still treasure that one.  That's how I first heard about this place.

Well i'm new to this forum but frequent a few others. I'm a MT (specifically Leathermans) addict and these days am carrying a Juice CS4 as my EDC. Glad to be here.

Here's mine:

Hi all,
My first post.  I've been reading this Spirit Owners Club forum off and on throughout the day at work ;)  Once I got home I decided to register so that I can join the club.  Reading about how some of you mod your multis inspired me to try some of my own.  It only consists of using the diamond file of my Charge AL to file down the small flathead on the Spirit to make it a mini eyeglass screwdriver.  I also did the same on the smallest flathead of my Juice S2, as well as the small one on my Rebar.  I guess you could say I got a little carried away, but now I have a mini screwdriver on all of those tools that didn't originally have one.  I also didn't find much use at all for any of those small flatheads, so I figured I may as well try it.  Unfortunately my home PC is old and uploading pics is a time consuming task.

The Spirit is an excellent piece of equipment.  I had started off with a few Leathermans and became hooked on the multitool phenomenon.  This past August I decided to treat myself on my bday to a Spirit.  Originally I didn't find them appealing when viewing them online, but they had such positive reviews that I decided to try one out.  As many have said, you don't really understand how solid and just how high quality it feels until you have it in your hands.  I'm still partial to my Charge and Rebar, but the Spirit is right up there with them.  All three are unique and fun to use/play with.  Of course I also like to pair them with a SAK, preferably my Compact, which compliments any of them very nicely.  I hope to someday be able to have enough time to upload some pics of my Spirit with it's new mini screwdriver :)

I've also wanted the Spirit S, but I can't seem to find it anywhere as it seems to no longer be available or in production.  Is this true?

It's funny to go back and read that first post.  It's interesting to see where we were at that point and how we've progressed with our collections and other things in life.  Very cool thread idea Mr. Whippy :salute:

I am interested if the file layer in a Victorinox ranger could be replaced with the magnifying glass and phillips driver of an explorer. I am looking to mod a ranger for this and if anyone knows if it is possible please tell me.
I feel like an idiot for it now, but my modding knowledge had to start somewhere. :)

After a while here one starts to think those things are basic knowledge, but most people would never dream of opening up a SAK and rearranging the parts. :D It's when they come here and start seeing the mods done by MTO members they start getting ideas. >:D

So you coming here already with the idea of modding one makes you one of the smart kids. ;)

And you were the one who responded to that post. :tu: I had no Idea saks could be made bigger or smaller. I had thought you could only change the tools within the size the sak already was.

I had the original Spirit but just couldn't get on with the knife blade. Overall though, it was still a great tool. When the X was released, I bought 2, and it has been my perfect multi tool since.

That was my first post. I then received a nice welcome from Benner. I miss Ben.

Here's mine,  I'm still so new here I squeak when I go into a thread...

Hi All,

New to this site, but not to forums (Telco Forums and Gadgets), got my first Leatherman for fathers day - LM Rebar (little brother to the Super Tool 300) and LM Micra, LM Removable Bit Driver, waiting on my Skinth OG (was going for the L-Shield, however got more info from Metropolicity, so upgrading).

Looking forward in looking through this site..

Jace

Since this post in September 2013 (4 months), I have bought a LM Surge, LM 42 Bit kit, Led Lenser P3, LM Bit Extender, LM Wingman, LM Brewzer, LM Sidekick, LM Z-Rex, Monarch 6, Skinth Plus sheath with black Ninja SS belt clip (thanks Eric).  I was given a BG Gerber Folder (my only knife) and a Swiss+Tech Key Tool from Xiii member on another site for Secret Santa.

So yeah have been bitten bad by the Leatherman bug...  Have a bonus payment coming in soon so going to air mark some of that for me - EDC stuff may look at a Byrd Robin 2 with G10 handles,  may get my third Skinth either the MG or First Responder for the car... Such a dilemma...

Just wanted to say hi !   I found this forum when I was researching what new multi tool to buy. I've had an original Leatherman pst since early 90's and have carried for work almost everyday. I've also got a Schrade and a Swiss Army MT but don't like them as much as the Leatherman, they are both stiff and awkward in comparison..

I just got today my new Leatherman Rebar and I like it a lot so far. I look forward to reading through the forums.

Hi everyone! After spending most of yesterday looking  at this forum I caved and ordered a Skeletool CX online just now for about half what they cost in stores here in New Zealand.

I can hardly wait for it to arrive! (And I'm already thinking up mods for it  >:D)

Seems I didn't do an introduction.

I use a nylon Custom Leather Craft case when I borrow my grandmother's cellphone, which I clip on my pocket or slip on my leather belt.    I had Tracfones for a number of years, but customer service agents who often could not speak English every well and having to get a card every month (or more if I used the data a lot).  Now I think I'll just get a Samsung Rugby (which is what my grandfather has) or other Mil-Spec phone then get added to my grandparents plan(I hate smartphones, the last Tracfone I owned was one), as any other phone won't survive me.

Originally, I had bought the CLC phone case for my Victorinox Fieldmaster, yet it only would fit a Leatherman sized knife, and I already had one of those for an Imperial Cutlery Leatherman style knife.  When the guy at the hardware store handed it me, I just went on and bought it to use as well, a cellphone case.

Now I have to use a pretty big Nite Ize, and I don't even own one of the newer, larger phones (Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2). In 2015, I had got rid of Tracfone for a Samsung Rugby 4 on AT&T; and then replaced it two years later with an NEC Terrain (which usually got switched between the Rugby and NEC), and in 2020, that got replaced by a Kyocera DuraForce PRO 2.  I had to. Seems American carriers (or AT&T and 3/4 of the ones I've looked at at least) have chosen that their most basic phones are cheaply made garbage; not decent ones like the Kyocera DuraXE or Samsung's Rugby line.
