The Neck Knife Picture Thread
on: December 26, 2013, 11:10:03 PM
I had to start one.

To start here's my TT PocketTools Custom s30v pry knife.
I had a small part designing it.

Admin please fix my link. My phone and photobucket won't work together.

I doubt I'm the only one who carries a neck knife now and then.

lets see yours

I've posted both of these before, but definitely worth posting again:
1.  My custom - CPM-154CM steel from a local maker, designed it myself.

2. Top is a Hartsook Talon Lite (custom), the bottom is the Buck version in S30V.  I loaned the Buck to my dad for his annual hiking trip two years ago and it's since disappeared in to the ether (so if anyone finds a Hartsook on the Pacific Crest Trail be good and mail it back to me)

For me my usual is the CRKT Neckolas that I always have around my neck while kayaking.  I have a lot of neck knives but that is the only one that sees regular use/carry.

Here is another one I have- I like this one but as it doesn't stay in the kydex very reliably I really don't consider it much of a neck knife.  It's the Nemesis Arch Ally:

More photos and details of it HERE.

This particular one doesn't fit the usual "Neck Knife" definition despite having come from the factory with a chain, and designed to be worn around the neck:

Then there's my Becker Necker and Ranger Knives Little Bird:

The Little Bird was eventually plucked:

The Little Bird was one knife I was extremely disappointed in when I finally got one.  Justin Gingrich is a good guy and a great designer but this one suffers from being too "tactical" since it is made from 1/4" steel.  That might be ok for a giant chopper, but it makes a small knife like this far too thick to put an edge on or cut anything with.

I have more but no photos handy at the moment.  I really am a huge fan of small fixed blades and I really like the Cold Steel Para Edge series and the Outdoor Edge Wedge, although both are often looked down on by more "serious" knife people.   ::)

I really like the SPEW knife from CRKT, although I don't have one yet.

I do think the MUK, also from CRKT would make a really nice neck knife if only CRKT would offer it with a decent sheath.

The Ta-Bar/Spare Tool could also be considered a neck knife... and a neck pry bar, a neck screwdriver, a neck ruler etc:

Thanks JAfromMn! It was my first neck knife and it has been extremely handy. I seem to use it for the dirtiest jobs that tend to pop up when I'm on the go. I don't like using folding knives that could get dirt/salt/grit in the pivot.

@komalsharma

Can't you use eBay? There are lots of different kinds of neck knives there.
