I think you will find that bank transfer + new member makes quite a few people hesitant, myself included.

Actually I'm member here since May 2012 and I'm only "new" regarding my posts. Let's say I'm a bit lazy for that matter, nothing else. I will try my best to improve that in the future.

As a matter a fact I don't see where is a problem if I'm "new" that you don't want to buy from me!? Why hesitation!? Please, if you be so kind to tell me that... I really appreciate it.

I stand behind my offer here and I just want to sell my Elinox duplicates. I think that these to knives with brass liners are really beautiful once and the price is good, also.

Regarding the payment via Bank transfer - that is the only way I can be payed for the goods, I'm sorry for that.

Thank you very much for your post, dmanuel.

@dmanuel

Paypal isn't available everywhere, some countries don't even have it at all, while in some countries you can only use it to pay. M0rkoni's country only recently (a year or so ago) got on the list of countries that can use it to pay for goods but still can except payments. Similar for my country too, I've been using it to send payments for 6 years now but I still have to wait 30-60 days to receive payments. ::)

Marko, it might help if you indicated your place of residence in your profile so people would know where the item would be coming from. Spamalotistan you currently have set up isn't exactly inspiring confidence. ;)

Yes, yes, yes that is exactly my case regarding PayPal. After all we are really close neighbors.  :)
Thanks for the explanation enki_ck.

And thanks for the suggestion regarding place of my residence... noted and changed.

I just hope that people will be now less suspicious, more confidence and don't hesitate to buy from me.

Hvala puno jos jedanput, Nikola.  :)

For me I hesitate to buy from people that I don't see active because I'm not sure how real the deal is. Maybe it just comes from being on some shady forums in the past. Other sites, like Oninehumidor, it is common practice to refuse to buy from people who arent known and or active members. Reason being is that they have little trust built up within the community. Then again fake cigars are extremely common and there always seems to be some issue every week.

As to the bank transfer, well I just don't like bank transfers. I've had issues with it in the past. Again though, the problem stemmed from a shady seller. Of course, I'm not saying that that is the case here but once you get burned it's hard to put yourself in the same position again.

Yep, well aware of that and I understand it. It sucks but I still prefer to deal through PayPal to get a little more insurance as the buyer. Having lived in five different countries I have experienced the same thing.

I wish you luck with the sell!

Thank you very much for your explanations but I simple don't see the connection between being active with posts and to trust somebody when buying from him here. Is this an indication that people do not need to believe me in advance when I try to sell something because I'm lack of posts!? I don't think so but that's just me.

As I already said, I'm too lazy regarding the posts and that's it but I will try to improve my self in the future. I understand your point of view and your hesitations but you need to have more faith in people, that's all.

After all the above I just feel the need to confirm for the first and last time...yes, this is the very REAL offer and it can't be more REAL than this... As a matter a fact I've already do business with some distinguished members here and everything went fine, off course. So I'm not fake or whatever one may think and I do not want to justify myself to anyone furthermore.

@dmanuel thank you for your wishes, I appreciate it from my heart.
Nice talking to you.

NOTICE regarding the trust:
First I'm going to send the goods and only when you get the goods you will pay me. I think it's fair enough by me...or crazy.    :)

Please, if you have any questions fill free to tell me.
Thanks.

I think you will find that bank transfer + new member makes quite a few people hesitant, myself included.

So for some reason this kicked off a mini firestorm. I don't know how anyone can see this as an attack. There is no name calling, no insinuation, and no defamation. I did speak out of turn by assuming that he was a new member since I saw a low post count. That is my fault.

In a later post I even say straight out that I am not calling anyone anything or that something shady was happening here.

I'm not saying that that is the case here ...

Anyone who believes that not knowing someone well (posts help to get a name built and reputation solidified) shouldn't be a consideration when buying and selling online isn't thinking things through logically. Caveat Emptor is a fairly common guideline for buying stuff IRL much less when you are online and only looking at a name and picture on a screen. Heck here is even a recent post found here in the For Sale section that says basically the same thing, people are hesitant to buy from those that they know little about online.

Folks might be a bit more likely to be interested if they know you a bit better :tu:
Quote can be found here in its entirety.

Again, no offense was meant in my statement and at no point did I call anyone anything or insinuate that anyone was not above board. I made a statement that was very direct with what I thought was no room for interpretation beyond what was meant.

Now for those of you who are demanding that I apologize, which I will do shortly, I would personally like to know what it was about this little sentence that you found to be an attack on a member?

I think you will find that bank transfer + new member makes quite a few people hesitant, myself included.

For what it is worth, I immediately apologized to M0rkoni via PM for any misunderstandings and tried to explain that no offense was meant. Unfortunately I did not save a copy of the PM to post here so that others could inspect it. If I had realized that others would demand a public apology of me for making a simple statement then I probably would have saved it before sending it.

For those who demanded an apology (and were in no way involved) here it is:

M0rkoni, and all others who were involved, I apologize for commenting on your post. I apologize for not making a direct enough statement to assure you, and the others, that I was in no way attacking you, denigrating you, or insinuating that you were a thief. I am sorry that what I was trying to say was misinterpreted as an attack on you, your character, or your product. I simply responded because I was acting under the assumption that you were a new member trying to sell a product with no luck. My thought was that I didn't want you to feel that you were being ignored. Please forgive me for any harm I may have caused and any undue stress that I may have placed on you, your character, your products, and for the stress that I have put on others.

I apologize in advance for putting any extra stress on others who may have read my apology to M0rkoni. I am sorry that I have had to rationalize a simple sentence, I am sorry that I have had to post again in his sale thread, I am sorry that it was not a simple straight forward apology, and I am sorry that you are having to read something else that has the potential of inducing stress, attacking someone, or ruffling their feathers.

I may have missed something here, but I don't really see any reason for anyone to apologize?  This looks like it was a difference of opinion at best, and that is how a forum works.  If we were all of the same opinion then there wouldn't be a whole heck of a lot to talk about would there?

Let's all take a deep breath, smile and remember that MTO is a happy place- and that sometimes things said in print weren't necessarily typed the way you may have read them.

I would be hesitant myself as well.. Well always be aware of dealing online with strangers, new member or not, especially via bank transfer. In my view, it's like sending via "gift" option without any protection. All in all, that's just my opinion. ::)

Thank you for your kind word, Grant. And yes, that's one of the reasons why I join this forum a couple a years ago, one big happy place and that most of the members are in mood for jokes. That's just great.
Regarding what is written here I just don't want to go in any deeper discussion, interpretation or anything similar...
Everything is fine by me and no hard feelings, of course...on the contrary.

It's really nice of you that you want to give some help in this whole matter but no need for that, at least as far as I'm concerned. But I really appreciate your help. I just do not want to participate in such things.

I've never had any problem with anybody or anything from the start and still don't have. The whole point of this "story" is that I'm not some shady seller and this is not some shady forum so the people can trust me if decide to buy some stuff from me in the future. That's all about.

And I've already told everything in my previous posts here and I think that is more then enough.

Thanks once more Grant.
