Here's what I've actually been carrying for the last week.  The White River M1 Caper.  Pictured here with what I call a small coffee.

I remember when you got the Dozier.  I thought then, and now, that it looks like a very capable little knife.  I can carry a fixed blade knife, so tomorrow I'll switch to the Izula II in honor of you both.  :cheers:

No adventures as of yet.  Just some tea, orange juice, and chicken soup.  I seem to be unwell this week.  Hope it passes soon.  However, I have been carrying the Izula II for several days now.  It's about as close as anyone will find to being an ideal EDC fixed blade without spending a lot more for something custom or semi-custom.  It can do anything I would otherwise do with a folder, and it does some things better because it doesn't have that pivot point.  I'd like to see it made in a premium stainless such as CPM MagnaCut or N690, but since ESEE offers a forever warranty it doesn't really matter what they make it out of.

Still carrying the Izula II.  No longer sick, but the cough is hanging on like a sea anchor.  If it wouldn't be considered insider trading, I would suggest buying stock in Halls Cough Drops.  :twak: Also pictured is my Champion which has been my carry with the Izula II for most of the week. :cheers:

It is a kiridashi. The real deal from dawn of times from Japan. Tradiotional utily knife that works very well for simple cutting, trimming, carving etc. Used by craftsman, gardeners, woodworkers etc. This particular one is made by Niwaki.
I find it easy to carry and it performs well too.
But then as a bit of a sucker for any traditional I would say that now wouldn’t I ;)

Today's carry is a Bark River Bravo Necker in CPM 3V, because the company shut down as of March 20th, which has got me feeling melancholy.  There are no reported issues with this model. It's a shame what happened to the company, but it's absolutely their own fault.

LionSteel DPX H.E.S.T. and a Leatherman P-4 are serving today.  I forgot to get the Swiss Champ out of my back pocket for the picture, but it is almost always with me as well.  I last carried the HEST in December 2025.  I really like this knife, but it isn't the most carry friendly knife in the rotation since it is in a full flap sheath.

The Schrade Sharp Finger 152OT, with coffee.  I still like this knife that has remained in production since 1973.  New production is Chinese stainless while the originals were U.S. made out of a carbon steel.  They still have the saw-cut Delrin handles that Schrade was known for.  At around $20.00 U.S., many in gift sets with additional pocketknives included, it remains a good introduction to EDC fixed blades without having to spend a lot of money.  :cheers:
