Oh thats annoying!  I havent had the USPS lose any of my pacakges ever yet... do they handle domestic shipping extra crappily?

I don't think it was USPS fault.  I think someone at shipping snagged them.  I had them sent to my work address because Cutlery Shoppe was having trouble with my home mailing address.

Guess what - just checked status of my long awaited Orange Farmers and they've been "Delivered."

Certainly not to me.

I emailed Cutlery Shoppe to see if they can do some detective work but I am nt too optimistic about this. I think I can say "adios" to my Farmers and my 134 dollars, which is fine cos I am so loaded at the mo.

I didnt order any more but I have to give a thumbs up to cutlery shop for not raising the cost.  They could easily sell them at 2 or 3 times the price.  Nice to see a stand up seller offering something like this for a good price.

They claim to have Delivered on the 22nd April , which is weird, cos last time I checked on the 26th everything was stuck at customs (the German import tax people are very sharp about getting their chunk.)

Now I have a dilemma - do I order 2 more and upgrade the delivery to the $60 option (WTF!) or do I wait and pray?

Every time I have used USPS it has been a disaster. I don't understand it - other companies deliver quicker, more reliably and for less pesetas so why do USPS charge so much for calamitous performance and zero reliability?

Very cool of them to offer these again at the same price. I see they limited it to, two per customer.

Can't believe about the bad luck with the USPS with both of you....... well I can believe it since its happened to me before. USPS pisses me off regularly.  Sorry to hear you guys are having trouble with that.

Is it only packages from the US you have issues with, or other countries too?  I think Ive shipped around 20 SAKs to Germany over the last couple years and not a single issue.  And from Canada to Germany is only $10 for shipping too.

Yes, I've only encountered USPS when purchasing stuff from the US.

That's a pain, limit of two doesn't make the $100 min for international orders.
The only thing I would want to add would be a black cadet and that still falls a few dollars short 
Oh well, a fellow Aussie bought some first time around and one is earmarked for me.

Would have been nice to get an extra or two. I'd rip the saw out of one and make it into a Pioneer.
If you're careful removing the heads, the rivets would still be long enough after removing the saw layer to button it up again without making new pins.

I'd like a matching pair in orange to go with the Silver, Red and Black Pioneer/Farmer pairs that I already have.

I'm sure I could find a home for that saw layer in a new Electrician to make an Electrician plus or perhaps in one of the scruffier old red pioneers I have

Well, I ordered 2 more for the ones that went missing.  If they show up, I'll sell them.  If not, I talk with cutlery shoppe and see what the options are.

My wonderful hardworking postal delivery lady has diligently tracked down my missing Farmers!

Seems they never made it out of the customs office. The dozy so-and-sos have been waiting all this time for me to go there with proof of purchase and recepts etc so they can squeeze a few shillings out of me. Since I am not telepathic a note of some kind might have been helpful.

All that remains is for me to toddle the 40 odd miles from my house to their cave/ dungeon dwelling with said documents and dollars. Normally this would be a piece of cake but I am 11,000 miles away in New Zealand at the moment so that complicates things.

Anyway. Good to know where the Farmers are. Why they were marked as delivered when they were rusting in customs is just one of the wonders of the universe, I guess. Or simply God's way of telling me to avoid USPS at all costs...

Good news that you have located your missing SAKs (bad news you are so far away at the moment).  I hope you and your orange beauties get together sometime 

I have had a few problems with USPS packages "going missing".  These days if it is anything rare/important/valuable I pay extra for tracking and insurance - that seems to improve the USPS performance dramatically (possibly because of the extra paper-work involved if they do "go missing" ).
