Germans lost finals before, from England, Italy, Argentina and Brazil.
Everything can happen. I'm with the poor tonight.

Once more the difference between American and European teams is obvious. Americans have the best players (Souarez, Rodriguez, Sanchez, Messi, Neymar) but Europeans are better in teamwork (Germany, Holland). The opposite happens from time to time but it's not that usual. When an American team has more than one great player (say, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldihno, Kaká) it is hard to beat, but with just one great player how many chances it has? The same applies to Germany vs Argentina today. Let's see.

I am still not sure I get this comment:
Are you seriously saying, neither The Netherlands nor Germany have outstanding players? That Neymar + Cesar could beat van Persie + Robben, or Müller, Lahm + Neuer?
IMHO NED and D have a lot of exceptionel players at the moment, with the difference that those players understand the need to play together as a team.

Something to remember today

Besides that, i think that football is changing a lot and many countries are starting to vary their playing styles from what they historically were, which is great.

Over here we have a history of finals with germany and for us it is very important to beat them, but in the case of germany there has also been an air of respect which makes it a rival we want to beat but not a rival we hate as a country (when it comes to football of course), so im guessing it will be a very intense but hopefully clean match. Now an argentina brasil final, that would be like world war 3  :ahhh

I just hope Argentina plays better football than they did against Belgium or the Netherlands.  In the game against Belgium they got an early goal, and then they just stopped playing ... And against The Netherlands they seemed to go for the penalty shootout from the first minute.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to start throwing rocks here, but since it was Argentina, in my opinion one of the greatest football nations out there, I expected more from them.

So, hopefully they will show us their full potential today against Germany, and may the best team win :tu:.

All teams in that level have great players.  But it doesn't matter who I think are the best, it matters who Real, Manchester United, Barchelona, Inter, Arsenal, Bayern, Milan, Ajax, Monaco, Brugue, Porto, Chelsie and Benfica think that are the best.

Sure looks as if Argentina is playing their best football today, so I guess we're going to see another exciting 45 minutes in the second half (and maybe more ...).

I'm not too thrilled with the game so far. I wish for Germany to score early in the second half so the Argeninians open up and start playing and not just defending. May the better team win then. ;)

True, a goal would make the game more open, but I must say that I didn't expect this game to be so equally matched ...

With both teams fearing the "late" goal this game is going downhill ...

Still 30 minutes to go, and one goal can break this game wide open ...

For example, Germany scores an early goal in the first extra time, Argentina goes all out attack and Germany answers with a great counter attack and there you go, 2-0 for Germany ...

 ;)

Oh well, I know one thing, seeing how Germany and The Netherlands couldn't get through the Argentinian defense, it's no shame the Belgians couldn't do it when Argentina was 1 goal ahead ...  ::)

Always trying to see the positive side of things  ;).

Nope ... close but no cigar Leatherman OHT  ::).

Oh well, looking at the complete World Cup I think the best team won, I can live with that (even without a OHT).

That was a nice goal. All three teams of the semifinals (minus the hosts) were equal and could have got the trophy. I might add France also. But the Germans have always a good team and they deserve a World Cup every now and then. Congratulations.
