Very cool mod. Will attract a lot of dirt in the pocket but very easy to clean!

thanks guys

this is not a hard mod i made the biggest dremel
shaping the washer on the axis of the cutting discs (that's why I plugged the hole of the bigger one with a copper axis)
relief milling and carried out in the same way with a dremel with a carbide bur held manually

A tough act to follow so instead of showing something new I'll just display the current census of my 84mm mods (these are users, hence the less-than-perfect surfaces).

First the titanium non-dentical twins, with blade, combo tool, Wenger scissors, backspring nail file and... you'll spot the difference.

And second, my "Dutch flag" of alox mods. They are cadets with Wenger scissors, with backspring tools as well for two of them.

the 84 mm format and really great in the pocket.
the mods are nice , luckily the wenger scissor fills the gap.

the integration of the nail file on the back and a good idea, it allows to reduce the number of layers.

A Scientist with blue scales and green accessories.

I thought blue and green struck a more 'sciency' tone than red and grey.

Not the most economical mod, taking a new Compact, old Explorer and new scales and accessories. Plenty of parts leftover for a bitsa.

Nice! What can you make with the "leftovers"? A Climber?

This already has its own thread, but I thought I would show off my "Master Ranger Deluxe", or "SwissChamp minus the fish scaler". Essentially I added a magnifying glass/Philips driver layer to a Handyman.
Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus
Current Leatherman tools: PST, Original Wave, Wave, Wave+, Blast, Bond, Curl, Style PS, Micra

Delemont s18. I like this knife, but those ridiculous shaped, overly thick scales had to go. I reshaped the outer liners to a more traditional SAK profile and added Kirinite scales. Also swapped the backside Phillips with corkscrew, and thinking of swapping the nail file with a 91mm small blade.

Now I just have to take it apart again because I smurfed up the order of the inner liners

Almost done peening; pivots are getting tight but I can’t seem to get the heads flat against the scale, leaving sharp edges of the pin heads. I think I need a smaller hammer. Any tips?

Not really sure how to help. Maybe cover the scales with some tape, to protect them, and file the head of the pivots with a very fine file or some high grit sandpaper?

Got this 84 mm bundle off eBay (see pic below). Golfer had damaged back spring and broken scissor spring. Climber has weak opening layer and blade spring. Walker is perfect and bantam is good to go. So I broke down the golfer and climber to mix match what works and came up with this golfer variant with Phillips and key ring I had left over from past projects. To the best of my knowledge Victorinox never released this variation of the golfer. Let me know what you guys think.
Oh man
This looks quite excellent
Please let me know if you’d be willing to part ways with it

New slant on a pruner! 91mm garden knife using saw (everything needs to have a saw!) and the hawksbill blade from a pruning and grafting knife. The brass scales took the longest really as the blade slots in rather nicely. It has a 3.5mm pivot hole so I did make a collar to reduce it down from some tube I found on the ‘bay that was 3.5mm with a 2.5mm inner diameter - what are the chances!

I also has to file a small nick in the combo tool spacer so the tip of the hawksbill didn’t clatter in to it.

I did use liners to keep the saw away from the scale and to provide the .4mm required to keep the main blade tight…yes it’s 2mm like a standard spearpoint.

I guess strictly you might put a small blade instead of the combo but I might carry this too and to be honest because the hawksbill has humped lines too this is one of the few scenarios I like the way the combo looks against the main blade.

Tough as old boots this. :salute:
