Wow!  The detail is impressive.  Did you 3D print the shield separately or switch out filaments?

My 3d printer is capable of printing multiple colors at once.  I also used a very small nozzle to get the detail.

Are you using a Bambu?

Spyderco Roadie XL was made for modding. M398 steel, bottle cap lifter off 93 mm, fluted corkscrew, hook with nail file, and some textured titanium.

the apprentice signature. I've been inspired by lurking through all the previous posts in this thread. Made this a few months ago and it's been with me nearly everyday since. I'll probably use slightly thicker scales of a stronger material when I do this retractable pen mod again, but it's worked really well so far. donors were an 84mm waiter, hiker screwdriver and midnight manager pen

Very well done! I wouldn't be surprised/I'd love it if Victorinox would steal this idea from you!

A new 74mm with titanium scales. Those screw-based mods are painful to assemble but they do look good. I'm glad to have found an arrangement where all nail nicks are accessible (the fine screwdriver is difficult to spot but easy to catch if you know where it is), the keychain attachment is on the opposite end of the blade (so a lanyard would work as handle extension) and doesn't interfere with the opening of other tools, all while using two floating spring layers.

More pics because I really like how it turned out and as soon as I put it in my pocket it will start to wear. The screws are designed for an Executive so to add thicker tools I removed the outer liners. The scales are more than rigid enough to allow this and there are no problems with keeping the scale tools against the springs.

Picked up some “reinforced fiber grip 91 mm scales with wire pocket clip” on EBay and have to say they are surprisingly awesome. Plus scales with excellent fit and finish. Flat black with a really grippy texture that is fantastic for opening a Spydernox. This three layer Spydernox has a Dragonfly 2 K390 blade sharpened at 17 degree angle with 400 diamond grit edge, 93 mm bottle opener, hook with nail file, and square Phillips with can key (fits Leatherman removable bit driver perfectly).    [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I am 67 years old and I am familiar with Swiss Army Knives since I was a kid – my father have one (which in now a treasure and most valued knife in my collection). I get my first knife before I went to school, and my first SAK when I was about 12 years old. Since then SAK was my every day companion (litteraly: EVERY day), except a period between my age from 16 to 23, when I carry polish Gerlach multitool knife. After that I have (and EDC !) a Climber, then SwissChamp, SwissChamp XL, SwissChamp XLT, XAVT and XXLT. The last four are great, but oversized and clumsy to work with. So I go back to regular SwissChamp and then to Ranger (which has the best ratio thickness/essential tools). Around 15 yers ago I started with SAK modifications. Here is my last mod. It has 6 layers and the tools I choose to fit my demands and wishes. So it has two big blades, reamer from 93 mm model, corkscrew AND phillips screwdriver as backtools, and a vintage, oldfashioned reamer (pre 1961, I think). It is not original from Victorinox, I harvested it from a polish Gerlach hnife I bought at fleemarkt. So, the tools are:
-   2 equal big blades
-   little blade
-   bottle opener with screwdriver
-   can opener with csrewdriver
-   file with metal saw and nailcleaner
-   wood saw
-   scissors
-   reamer from 93 mm model
-   corkscrew
-   chisel
-   backside little screwdriver
-   phillips screwdriver
-   vintage pre 1961 reamer (for use and for estetic and nostalgic reasons)
-   toothpick
-   tweezers
-   ballpoint pen
-   pin
-   mini screwdriver.
It is 25,5 mm thick and have external pins and green scales. This will be my EDC from now on (Same I thought for all my other knives )

Greetings, Samek

Oh wow!  That's a beautiful looking SAK.  I'm really liking the exposed pins on the green scales.  Are the two center pins aluminum or steel?

This project has already left the walls of my workshop, but I've kept it in the story. Blade ELMAX spring is ours with a hook under the ring. We've worked out friction pair, so we continue our journey in customizing new tools and blades for our projects.  :climber:

I always wanted an 84MM Plus with Alox scales.  Well, they are not Alox, although they look close enough.
