on: July 16, 2014, 08:46:01 AM
Looking for a decent edc folder under 60 bucks. Can go used if someone perhaps has one on part with for cash or trade. New preferred though.

Needs
Lock when open
Would like assisted opening
Straight blade no serrated needed
Pocket  clip
Lifetime warranty preferred
USA made
Quality steel perhaps equal to my s30v blade I put on my wave

Thanks guys!
Josh

That's gonna be pretty tough to one fit all the requirements at around 60 usd.  The best I have seen is a Kershaw Blur S30V assisted at 72usd on Amazon.

Most assisted folder with S30V I have seen are selling at a starting price of 80+ usd, and there are only a handful of branded companies I know who makes assisted folder.

Thanks guys! Will check out the blur and the zero tolerance and the aus8. I have a visa gift card from the boss so that shy 60 is the limit.  I have had lots of kershaw knives in the past and have really enjoyed them.

Leatherman C33 or C33T if you'd like screwdrivers.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Kershaw leek

+1 The Leek is a great knife.  Slim, feels great in the hand, and takes a great edge.  I have four of them in the family right now.  :tu:

If you want something a little larger and more robust, take a gander at the composite Junkyard Dog 2 from Kershaw. It's not assisted but a brilliant flipper, composite D2 / 14c28n blade, smurfing good blade shape and all-day comfortable grip. $70 on Amazon.

Kershaw Blur and the Spyderco Native are the only ones that come to mind with the Blur being closer to what you describe.  I don't know where they are made however.....

Academy has the Kershaw Tone for 29.99.  Bought one for work a couple weeks ago. Good knife IMO. Cheap, well built.

- 8CR13MoV stainless-steel blade
- Straight-edge tanto blade
- G-10 handle
- Speed safe open
- Liner lock for safety
- Reversible pocket clip

Both the Blur and the Native are US-made.  I don't have a Native (yet  ;) ), but I have two Blurs.  They are great knives.  :tu:

Just a tad over his budget but the Native is a fast opening blade and a great shape blade too.  I don't have a Blur but I've always like the knife and for the price seems like a great choice.
