I cant understand why Vic didnt offer more bits?  I had looked several times for bits with no luck and had the wallworld one you have.  I had thought of building up the shank part of the cheap extender then filing it down to fit the CT.  I gave up I sure hope this works out.

This is about the cheapest US source for replacements:
http://www.opticsplanet.com/victorinox-multi-tools-victorinox-cybertool-bit-swiss-army-knife-accessories.html

But there are 7 different bits in total on these two pages here:

I am still going to make the ratcheting mod,  but the original idea was just solved,  and super simple.     should have figured this out a long time ago

anyway,  a 1/4" wide by 3/4" strip of electrical tape.

yep     I tried tape before, but it was too tight. instead of solving it, I dismissed it.

nice fit too

so, about a hundredth of a cent worth of tape, and this works great!   since I doubt I will be using it every day, so this will work until I can do something a little more permanent.

but here is a short vid on how strong the magnet and the adapter are.

Here's a cheap solution I came up with to hold non-vic-type bits in the CT:http://blogericious.blogspot.com/2013/06/extending-bit-range-on-your-cybertool.html

Neilcurrie,  thanks for link, and that should suffice for most people, but I am going to pursue this other method,  if no reason except than to see what comes of it.

if this fails, then I will try your method

Well, I learned that a ratcheting mechanism is useless if the JB Weld manages to get to it.

I managed to make fat adapter that does not ratchet.  luckily, it was a cheap tool and I bought two.  I will try again

A magnet with blue tak is an instant trouble free solution that works great. I did mine and never regretted it. The magnet came from a kid's magnetic earring. But I appreciate the need for adventure and pioneer mods.

yeah, I am playing as much as solving my problem,  I have tons of rare earth magnets, unfortunately, the smallest ones I have are a tad too big.

Oh well, I just need to buy some smaller ones.

well, since I got the wrong item from ebay, I took other peoples advise and just used JB Weld and attached a small magnet to the bottom of the extension.

here are the magnets I got

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/104800001X/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

so here is the update and I am happy with what I have accomplished, even if some of it looks rough.

so here is the bit kit that ended up with.

From Left to right, we have the ratcheting adapter that has a magnet on the base so it stays in the CT bit driver, and the bit end is also magnetic, so it holds the after market bits with no trouble.
Next we have the quickly modded holder that has the non ratcheting bit adapter, same  again a magnet on the base so it stays in the CT bit driver, and the bit end is also magnetic, so it holds the after market bits with no trouble.  and 6 bits
The last two are just 24 bits in 2 holders

here you can see where the magnets were attached with JB Weld

the regular adapter only adds an inch and a half or so onto the bit driver.  due to the knurled area on the adapter, you can use it in hand without the cybertool as a precision driver.

the ratcheting driver adds about 2 and a half inches to the length of the bit driver, and is pretty cool.  this is not really a needed addition, but after changing the battery in an old voltmeter the other day that had four 2 inch fine thread screws just to get to the battery, I plan on having this in my little kit.

I know things happen and I might loose a magnet, so here is where I keep the spare one!

PROTOTYPE HOLDER   nice way to say I completely completely ignored fit and finish, and looked ONLY at functionality

I made this PROTOTYPE     by first wrapping the kit in electrical tape, sticky side out.  then wrapping that in duck tape.
I added the dual loop dangling fixture by duck taping some paracord to the kit holder.

here you can see inside the holder

An oxygen acetylene torch and braze them together?

I grew up on a farm, if I was around there, that would be what I would do, but, I am not.

What about finding about an inch or two of steel tubing that'll just slide over both items, then JB Weld everything together?

now that I have done this,  it is not a big deal.  I am going to do like you and put a magnet into the end of my Cyber-Yeoman.

this set has knurled grip,  this will give you a short and a long one.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ultra-Steel-Precision-Screwdriver-Set-44pc/17190613

the one from Lowe's had a ratcheting mechanism,  I do not really NEED it, but I was playing and it was fun.
