Is this SS or CV? I thought Case always marked these?

It's CV.  All Case stainless blades are marked SS, but they didn't begin to use the CV tang marking until 1996.  Lovely knife.  :tu:

No problem.  :)  The handle is real bone by the way.  Bone and jigged Derlin have the same identifying number, 6.  Derlin however would have an oval around the CASE in the shield.

Nice! Is it weird that it doesn't have brass liners? All of my other Case knives do? I thought 93 alox had a nail breaker springs. They have nothing on this knife.

I've got Case knives both with and without the brass liners.  It's not uncommon, especially on older knives.  And yes, those larger knives have pretty strong springs.  :)  Be sure to wipe down the backspring occasionally if you're handling or using it, CV knives have CV springs as well.  They take a beautiful patina after some use though.  :tu:  I prefer CV, the Cases I regularly carry are all carbon steel.  They take such an incredible edge.....
