But does it keep time?

It looks painful to wear, plus rather awkward and not very effective as a tool  :-\

IL get one if it's cheap enough.

That is if it ever passes from the prototype stage into production.

IMO, I doubt it ever will. The concept is great, the execution poor.  ::)

I think it's a good start, it would help free up some pocket/belt space.  But it looks painful to wear, and pretty overt about the fact that it's not your typical watch.  Maybe a few revisions later they'll have something I'd like.

Pretty much. Borderline dangerous to his employment unless the 'leak' was intentional, in order stir some side-commentary from the multi-tool community or to elicit pro and con arguments he would later take on board and discuss with the rest of the design team there.

Personal opition : Wearing a watch made of wrench and screw drivers? You can't be more redneck blue collar than this.

Thanks for the fix.
Bad enough we hid multiple Multi-tools somewhere on our bodies everyday, do we really need to wear one around our wrists in plain sight to other people's face that says "I am a dork!"

Chandler : Oh, now? No, no, I think something this nice should be saved for a special occasion.

Joey : Oh, no no, that’s the beauty part, it goes with everything. You put this on, you’re good to go. Ohhh man, you are so wearin’ that Leatherman watch.

Chandler : I so am.

Joey : You have any idea what this’ll do for your sex life?

Chandler : Well, it’ll probably slow it down at first but, once I get used to the extra weight, I’ll be back on track.

Chandler : What? Oh this is excellent. You know he coulda gotten me a Gerber, he coulda gotten me a SOG but no, he has to get me the woman repeller, the multitool watch from the Leatherman.

I asked him if I could post 'em here, and he said go ahead, so I think it's a bit of calculated risk on his part. He asked me to send him a link to this topic on monday.
I mean, some pro's and cons from the members of the best multitool-related forum on the planet, can they get better customer-research than that?

It looks.... painful. That metal strap is digging into his wrist... OUCH!!!! :td:

+1

Pic #2 showcases the (dis)comfort level by the dig in his wrist.

As a tool, it fails and isn't to be taken seriously. I think this is to be purchased as a novelty/man jewelry item in which case I think it fails that category as well.

Might be just a proof of concept but if it wasn't real I certainly do not want one. I'm sticking with my rule of only buy watches from watch company and the tools from tool company.

TBH I assumed that this was simply a novelty watch. Nothing more than a leatherman statement for leatherman customers.

As for what we'd really like to see.....

Just Blunt Nose pliers please, simple isn't it

Skip the watch and sell the band.
I would put one of my Laco/1925 cases on that band and it would look sweet.

Likely scenario: Guy buys watch. Guy gets made fun of for wearing nerdy "prepper" watch. Situation arises where a nut/screw needs adjusted. Everybody looks to guy with the Watch. Watch fails & guy is doubly embarrassed. Guy stops wearing watch.

The watch is definitely interesting, and I mean that in a good way. On the other hand, it looks uncomfortable. And I have the feeling that it would real hard to get any kind of torque, and you'd need lots of clearance, and you'd have no reach at all with the drivers.

I could be interested by a Leatherman watch, but honestly I would want it to focus more on comfort, with fewer functions that either (1) actually perform well, or (2) are "token" features which blend seamlessly into the look. For examples, I think the cutting hook (letter opener) might be an interesting example for (1), and the hex wrenches for (2). I think the current design is just trying a bit too hard.

And just in case they're listening... cough...cough... KF4 with scissors!!!!.... cough....
