I do not mind using the SAK to open cans. Its actually quite nice to hone your skills as it makes it much easier to open cans with them. I hate watching someone who does not know how to do it struggle to open a can with a SAK. Its like torture to me.

While I sure don´t want to start another can-opener discussion, I do like teh vic one very much. In my opinion, it´s the best design of all teh MT/knife Can openers and will even beat some regular Can Openers.

But I´m quite happy our Cat´s food comes in cans with pull tabs.

Flip the can and open it from the bottom.

We have a saying here: "The good stout-hearted man knows of another pathway"

Except if you'd like to use the hook on that tab ring. I would understand if you do.

Should have eaten the can. Iron is good for your diet...

I can't see the contents. If it's soup inside, you can use the awl.

Or you can use the corkscrew, screw it in and pull to remove the lid.

Do it the right way, the MTO way. Down with food industry's facilities to ease the instant tireless consuption of huge quantities of easily swallowed food that makes as lazy and obese. We gave up  hunting and cultivating our own food, we won't give up our SAKs too. :viking:

I'm not sure I could eat squirrel. They also aren't cute at all, they look like rats with bushy tails and I cannot stand rats.

Little sucker's certainly in range there.....  >:D  When I was younger we had a trailer in a campground upstate NY.  The red squirrels (different species than the pic above) would get into closed trailers and were pretty destructive.  The owners of the campsite would pay my brothers and I $5 a head to go out with our .22's and bag some reds.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

Off course, as with everything "the dosage makes the poison".

When it´s nice to see one or two running around in your garden and trees, to much of them can be annoying, and countermeasures needs to be taken.
Have fun.

During university, one of my science courses saw the class out for a week at Mississagi Provincial Park, doing a small mammal study. The study involved a set of Havahart live bait traps strung on both sides of a creek for a mile or so. We had to check the traps every few hours otherwise, the little guys might die in the cold metal traps. We had to basically take a few bio-metrics and release the little blighters back into the forest. I was the only one to think to bring leather work gloves. The class broke up into two teams. Because I had the gloves, I was always the little critter handler. I can tell you, squirrels are cute but not when pissed off and trapped at 3 am in the morning. It didn't take long before a pissed of squirrel tore a big gash in the arm of a classmate on the other team. Stitches later, I lost my left glove to them until they could get back to civilization and buy a few more pairs of leather workman gloves. Personally, If I had known how nasty they would be, I would have brought some Tig gloves. For two days, we were known as left and right hand teams. I kid you not.

From a distance...they are cute. Up close, they are all muscle and claws.

If you think they are hard to handle under those circumstances ....... don´t try that with me.

I find the lack of spork disturbing.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

California.  A quick search says I can find it in Wallyworld.  I'll have a look next time I'm there.
