Go see the new Batman film!!  It is and EDC extravaganza!!

No Multitools /SAKs but plenty of knives and explosions!!

PLUS!!  This particular JOKER(played by the late Heath Ledger) is by far the best JOKER yet!!  Far superior to Ceasar Romero or Jack Nickleson).  >:D Though, sadly, the JOKER's "take" on society is more closer to true than most of us would care to admit.

But JOKER has a more inventive, homemade EDC capability.

I went to a special midnight showing of Batman last night and I was very impressed.  It was a long movie (two and a half hours!) but it didn't drag on at all.  It was amazingly well done.  I wasn't really expecting much, as the ads really didn't make the Joker seem all that Joker-ish.  He seems (from the ads) to be more of a schemer who is pretending to be insane, as opposed to someone who is actually insane.  Well, the ads didn't do it justice- the Joker was well written and excellently played.

Harvey Dent/Two Face was also done well, which is something that's never been done before.  As much as I love Tommy Lee Jones, the last round of Batman movies got painfully stupid by the time he came along and did Two Face.  I was also disappointed in that particular round of Batman movies as I was really looking forward to Billy Dee Williams as Two Face, since he played Harvey Dent in the Michael Keaton Batman.

Anyways, back to the new one- it was indeed amazing, except for that one last scene.  Right up until the end of the last fight, it was good, but the final exchange between Batman and the Commissioner, and the result thereof (trying REAL hard not to spoil it!) just seemed like it was tacked on, and had no real purpose.  There were lots of sensible ways they could have finished it off, but it seemed like some executive with too much cocaine and too little sense decided to tack it on.

I have to say though, that I think this was perhaps the absolute finest Batman movie I have ever seen, and I've sen them all!  Of course there were no overly memorable lines like Adam West's "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

First of all "ooh lah-dee-dah, going to the theatre is it? well arn't you a fancy poofter"

I say that in the spirit of Bruce, Bruce, Bruce & Bruce, and thus absolve myself of all crimes of abuse.

Second of all: I'm off to the talkies to see Batman this evening myself, looking forward to it, I do love me some men in moulded plastic.

I mean, gadgets. I watch it for the manly gadgets.

I liked it as well. Like Def said, it didn't drag on at all. But, King Kong dragged on horribly!  :ahhh

I thought a theatre was a place to see live plays while a theater was a place to see movies.

Much easier in the UK. Theatre for the live stuff and cinema for moving pictures.

There is the down side that we often have to wait awhile before they show the new stuff this side of the pond.

Actually I don't think I've made it out to the cinema since my eldest was born over five years ago

So I wait for the DVD... except I stopped buying them when they started putting unskipable (is that a real word  ) trailers and anti-piracy warnings at the start of them.

Soo... I'll let you know what I think of the new batman film in around four years when I pick it up for a quid at a car boot sale :D

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

...and the British-English spelling.
