That's cool. Someone needs to put them all together and make a big poster so I can stamp the variants out as a I get them.  :D

I hunger for a riveted variant. One day it shall be mine.

How did you happen into that 10th anniversary one? Never heard of a gold plated multi before, do you recall how many were produced?

That one there is number 23 of 200. I bought it from a nice gentleman who worked at Leatherman Tool Group for 18 years. :)

Bob you are a LEGEND , very nice PST collection . Bob did the 10th anniversary model have a special sheath ? I am going a little crazy waiting for my ? riveted PST to arrive. http://i6.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/fd/f0/c27b_1.JPG

Nope, that doesn't seem to be the case Chief. There are riveted PST's with LEATHERMAN JAPAN, LEATHERMAN USA, and just plain LEATHERMAN stamped on the knife blades.

And maddeningly, that same variety of knife blades appears on PST's without rivets. :-\

Its almost as if in the early 1980's there were big bins of parts at the Leatherman factory. And all those parts came from a number of different batches and sources. And they all got assembled together in random ways, resulting in the crazy combinations that we find today.

No sheath came with the 10th anniversary tool Mat. It was mounted in a special plaque, the ultimate wall queen. ::) :D

Hey, and congrats again on the PST you've got coming. I'm pretty sure it is riveted. :)

Bob I wonder if any of those 200 have ever cut any wire ? :pok: . You must have done some talking to convince that chap to part with it . I am thinking they would not come up for sale very often.

It would have been so much harder with out the excellent work & knowledge you so kindly share Bob. Many thanks to you Bob ,you are  truly as friendly as you knowledgeable.

Bob I will buy you the weight in beer equal to the weight of your MT collection  :D :D , gosh that amount of booze might kill a fella though  :pok:. I think my first part of my reply got lost in the post.  Do you think any of the 200 have cut any wire ? :pok: . You must have done some talking to convince that chap to part with it .I would think those Gold PST's very rarely come on the market. I look forward to seeing more pics of it in the book you & spoony are creating  :pok:

Owe by the way if anybody is thinking of asking about the knife blade it was a Saber style I think ::) But trying to straighten the blade 1 time I broke the tip a little  I finally got it back to a decent looking shape with a file though :)

Very curious Smitty. Unusual in that it all its features suggest that this PST was one of the very earliest produced..... (no lanyard attachment, drop point knife, inch-only scales, no USA on the plier pivot) .....and yet it has knurled screws, which would suggest that it came along somewhat later than the riveted tools.

Thanks Def,it came out great, and you can read the LM USA along side the blade also, and Bob I was wondering,Cabela's and Early Winters where some of the first early orders in 1983,and maybe the ones
done for Cabela's was the first ones that the put knurled knobs on,all the rest that we have seen with
rivets don't have the Cabela's name on the side!!!
