G'Day,

Another full-time biker, ditched the car years ago. Nothing like smelling what is around us and living life on the edge.

As someone once said, "I live more in 5 minutes on a bike than most people in a lifetime". Ride on brothers and keep the rubber side down!!!

G'Day,

Thanks for the kind words. Will be off on a good Sunday ride tomorrow.

I dig that Zook, DP. 04:00, that is an early start. At least not to many cagers to dodge. I like starting early too and miss most of the peak traffic in Sydney.

Cheers,

Pete

Here is a photo of my first motorcycle...a Triumph America. I miss her sometimes.

And my friend's 1983 Honda Shadow.

A bonus shot.

Since the weather has been rather nice as of late, got to work and ride my GS Zook.

How she used to look...

How she looks now...

Still have some work to do yet, but the old  GSX750e is coming along I think.

Looking good.  Were you not using the bags enough to keep them on?

Not really, biggest problem was the air hitting those saddle bags keep messing with the bike at higher speeds. Those bags where pretty big and was also getting rather ratty. I just tend to use a back pack if I am going to haul anything.

Ever thought of adding small wind screen on it? Could make driving little easier by lifting airflow over you. You would not have to lean that much to the wind.

I am thinking about adding a small wind shield. Still, the bags would be  catching a lot of air. Never really liked them anyways.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day, I washed the Jeep and motorcycle. I then remembered I left the battery in the bike all winter.

Just finished putting the battery on a battery charger and to let the little electronic marvel do its magic. I just hope the battery is ok. I will say, I do love my Tecmate Optimate 6 Ampmatic charger.

Starting to get the motorcycle bug badly now with the recent warmer temperatures. The city still hasn't washed all the sand off the roads yet however.

ducttapetech, nice bike. I am surprised you removed the bags. I mean...don't your legs break most of the wind anyhow?

I think you find that on these slimmer bikes your legs tend to tuck in and not cut the air as much as they do on the big cruisers Dan.  They handle a lot differently than the bikes you are used to.

You nailed it Boss. The GS Zooks are sport bikes that kinda look like cruisers. Your legs set up under you. I put lower bars on it and it handles even better than before and for me, I find it more comfortable. But that is me.
I think I am going to do the 4 into 1 exhaust next. That should shave some weight off of it.

Another pic of the GS in its element.

We did a quick three week trip to the Centre of Oz. All up was 7,000 km in 13 riding days. We saw the desert with lots of grass and shrubs after the unseasonable rains. Apparently it only get this wet every 25 years. Some roads were closed and we had to re-plan the last week of the trip.

The first pic is of Uluru, a VERY BIG rock - It stands 348m above ground. One of the most startling Uluru facts however, is that some 2.5kms of its bulk is underground. It is 9.4 km around its base.
Second pic was taken about 100 km out of Port Augusta, we could not find them pots of gold though. Riding buddy's GS is in front, mine at the back
The last two were at scenic outlooks

Cheers,

Pete

A fantastic looking bike. Love the boxers, lots of character

Nice. And on my to do list.

It is a good ride, some boring straight bits, but that is the only way to cover such big kms.
