Crunch Differences

While on my cycling "holiday" i had the opportunity to compare a couple of Crunches:

Pivots are different:


Date stamps are "upside down":

I wonder why the changes where made ???

Was there any difference in operation mate ???

My mates (one on right) had a slightly looser "clicky together" bit, but apart from that no. His is older and seen more use though :)

Maybe it was just an improvement in quality thing then :)

Mine is like the one on the right, and the date stamp is like the one on the top in the second picture.  My stamp is 0200.

Mine also is like the one on the right and has the date stamp "the right way up" as in your pics Roadie. Mine is dated 0999.

I used to come here a lot.

I just notced that although my pivot is like the one on the right, if I flip it over the other pivot is like the one on the left!!

I used to come here a lot.

If you look at the pivot area, you'll see that the thicker jaws are also on opposite sides in this photo.

Judging by what Dave said, it looks like they just flipped the jaws at some point...

The Crunch I got the other day has a pivot like the one on the right in the first pic and an upside down date like the one on the bottom in the second pic. Dated 0303.    :think:   Must be a Crunch from the transitional period.
