brand new crunch, first day in the sheath, the sheath gave way and the two rivets on the bottom holding the leather together came apart and my new crunch fell out.

this is why I like nylon pouches instead of riveted leather.

Will leatherman send me a new pouch? I doubt they will send me a new crunch....good thing I have two, one is in the glovebox of my bike.

I personally have had sheath issues with them, but one thing about Leatherman is their customer service
seems darn good,

get a hole of them, tell them what happened, who knows, maybe they'll take care
of you! (sheath and tool). good luck and keep us posted.

I'm pretty certain they will send you a new pouch.  If there are any marks on the Crunch itself, they may look after you there as well.

My Crunch came with the old-style leather sheath, and that is really well made. I'm assuming that new ones come with the new-style sheath like those supplied with the Kick, Fuse, Blast and Core - is that right? The new ones are vastly inferior to the old ones, and a bit disappointing really, although I'm still surprised the rivets went. I wouldn't have been surprised if the stitching had torn as the leather is so thin, but the rivets seemed pretty solid!

Anyhoo, my understanding is that if the sheath was supplied packed with the tool, it should also have a 25 year warranty? Even if not, I'm confident that LM will replace it. I'd also venture to suggest that they'll replace the Crunch if it was damaged in the fall. The message to Def seems to suggest that they will see you right - I hope so mate!  Best of luck.

In case you didn't know Def, the factory sheath was the same design (and quality) as the PST, PST II, Supertool etc. I think the Crunch had it's own unique size of sheath though, as it doesn't fit in the PST one, and rattles about in the Supertool's.

That's the one. The "Leatherman" is diagonal across the front.

They were excellent sheaths. I really like the way that as they age, the leather molds itself to the tool, so there's never any rattling as you walk along. The new leather sheaths are crap by comparison. The most irritating thing is the supplied "Kick" sheath is ridiculously big for the tool. I thought they'd packed the wrong one until I realised they were all like that. One of the few backward steps from Leatherman IMO. Although the premium sheaths you get with the Charge are very solidly made, as are the LM Realtree sheaths.

I much prefer the old nylon sheaths to the new ones too. They just seemed to fit better.

HaChayalBoded - I'd seriously consider picking up an old style sheath of ebay or something if you intend to belt-carry your crunch regularly. If LM do send you a new one, you'd probably get more for that on ebay than the old one would cost you
