Has anyone seen one of these in person? I was curious about the build quality - http://www.trueutility.com/collections/scouting-range/products/sc500blue

Absolutely horrendous quality. Avoid like the plague!

There's a thread around here somewhere, where I discuss getting one and then getting the store I got it from (official scout shop) to discontinue stocking it as it wasn't safe for young 'uns. They opened a couple of packages up their end, agreed with me, and stopped stocking it

Not having any True Utility gear myself, but from what I understood, they're more of a portmaneau brand for many manufacturers. As such the quality varies greatly between individual products. For the tiny, less manufacture-intensive ones on the plus side.

However they're all pretty cheap and some have really cool designs: Keytool, Minidriver, Scixors etc.
so no wonder they are quite popular...

Some TU stuff is quite good: Eyeglass, telepen, slimclips, minidriver.....

Just stay the hell away from that P.O.S. Scout knife!

If you do, take the knife apart, test the blade holder thoroughly, throw the rest of the knife in the bin, and fit the blade holder into something else.

Seriously....

That was the plan.
I use my SAK regularly to cut self-sticking name plates to size on a Stainless steel backing, ruining teh blade tip quite quickly. So a small blade holder would be a nice addition to a work-SAK

Didn't Syph make a scalpel holder for a SAK? Depending on how much adjustment has to be done, this might be the easier route.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
