Nice. I like the shiny edge - shows commitment   :salute:
It made me realise that I have not made any knives in nearly a year...  I need to get back to it.   :)

What really gets me is the lack of knowledge had me believing knife making is expensive and something I should rather forget.

As recently as 2006 a friend told me his dad (a medical doctor) attended a course and bought all the equipment....which was just standing around.

It doesn't help that for the past 10 years every online moment was dedicated to fly fishing and bonsai.  I've reached reasonable proficiency with both, so a new field of study is required  :D

I guess most people would go crazy if they didn't tell themselves everything happens for a reason and in its own time..

BTW, phoned my machinist buddy, the search is on for forklift tines.
How lucky am I to have a machinist for a best friend........who just happens to like knives as well?!?!?!

I plan on taking that to the next level on my BK2 and BK9.
Saw the tip online, I use part of an old belt glued to wood as a sanding block........works A LOT better.  Mine is longer, so the end result is very similar to a strop, in fact used the part of the belt that's useless as a strop.
Started with 80 grit, then 320/400 grit, them ended with 1000 grit.

With the BK's I plan going to 1500 and then I've got polishing compound that removes 1500-2000 grit scratches.  8)

Oh........and for the best results they should call it "Spit or Dry" sanding paper  :D
