Will be selling my collection - question about shipping items

I have made up my mind to sell my collection of some 700 to 800 pieces. This collection consists of most of the earlier popular multis. Leatherman , SOG , gerber, buck, schrade some swiss army victornox and wegner. I know there is the porsche design wegner , a lot of antique multis barnett plier knives several variations, Cattauragus, C.P. Wrench  knife ( now here is a puzzle, in levines guide to knives . He has a lot of pics of older multis . A lot of the pics are from a collection of a Howard Melnick . There is only one pic of a C.P. wrench knife. Well apparently I must have an unknown variation because I have two C.P wrench knives and they are NOT the same and I sincerly doubt that it is a forgery . Pics of this later. )

I was glancing through some of the collection the other day II saw the leatherman juice pro the camos , lady leathermans, radio shack leatherman , leatherman flair. The FIRST gerber multiplier. When gerber made thier first I seem to remember that it was recalled due to some imperfections weak scissors or some such . In any case it was a short run . It was the only gerber in a gloss polish finish rather than a satin finish .

I have Buck navigators ? I put a question mark behind that for definite reasons . Buck never released the navigator , They hyped and bragged about it for about a year in advance of it's release date and the suddenly killed the project . It was one of only a few knives/multis that they had being made in china at the time . Most Buck products are/were made in U.S.A. . This was a bit of an exception, in any case suddenly Buck announced that they were NOT going to be releasing it . Thier only comment at that time or since so far as I recall was that the tool "had not met expectations" . Nobody at Buck will say anything more about it . So I have some multi's that look like the advance pics that had been issued of the navigator. BUT I cannot call them Bucks , the Buck navigator was never offically released. I have multiples of this one and I have it in 3 color bolster variations . I have most of the early Buck multis .

I have a lot of SOG's Some black  and titanium nitrade coated.

It will take months to dispose of this collection .

For the time being I am going to restrict sales to the U.S.A. at least until someone explains to me how I could ship items overseas or wherever FROM my home. I live in the BOONDOCKS out in the Sonoran desert in ARIDzona ( yes  , I am aware that is a misspelling , it was deliberate . I live in the desert , think about it !) It is a 30 to 35 mile round trip to go to the post office . I recently discovered (dummy me , hey I am an OLD fart not used to working with computers and such and modern apps like you kids) But I found that I could sign up for a postal account and make labels and pay for priority mail from my computer and the mailman will pick it up from here so I do not have to drive 30 - 35 miles. I DO NOT like going to town , that IS WHY I live IN THE BOONIES .

Priority mail gets a tracking number , insurance, additional insurance can be bought , EVERYBODY is protected. But priority mail only works within the USA .

When somebody explains to me how I can do the same FROM HOME so I do not have to go to the post office , Then I will consider sales out of the USA.

Sales will be final ,pics will be provided prior to sale, tracking numbers and insurance a must . Both parties protected , no shipping will be done without that .

I see where multitool org asks for a donation from sales which I will be glad to comply with but I will try to sell here first to give you all first crack at it and if after a few weeks no interest is expressed then the items will be listed on ebay . Obviously if sold through ebay then I have thier fees to pay .

So what do you want to see first ? Leatherman , SOG Gerber , antiques or a sprinkling of all the above . Oh , I do have a moderate amount of chinese product as well , they did have some diiferent designs some wacky but interesting . Variations of flip grips and such a lot of hammer and wrench multis .

Sounds like you have some good stuff so I'm sure you will be able to sell a lot here and keep them with collectors we know.

As far as what to put up for sale first it's really up to you.  :tu:

I would be interested in a us made schrade tool. I agree with Cap. Pick what you want gone for sure first and put things up over time. Good luck  and keep me in mind for a schrade tool if you got it

Schrade tough tool with schrade stamping or craftsman stamping . Same tool made for craftsman with thier name instead . Schrade tough tool combo plier or one of their three variations  vice grip/schrade  regular vice grip jaws, needle nose jaw, and pipe jaw. I have one each of the 6 preceding in new unused condition, never carried or played with.

Also have five of the schrade tough chip, the ST2, two in stainless finish, one of those labeled  schrade tough chip the other labeled craftsman professional. Three more schrade tough chips one with a reddish maroon finish, one green finish, one black finish . Again, all in new unused condition.

Demel,

P.S. I forgot to mention . I also have the schrade i-quip (computer module version) and the similar one with regular magnetic compass . The i-quip computer module functions as I recall has digital compass, time(r ?), altimeter, barometer and ........ a bunch of functions . Whistle on it's lanyard, mini flashlight, signal mirror , cigarette lighter case , belt clip and a compliment of blades on one side of the case .
Will try to get pics of the Schrade stuff tommorrow.

tattoosteve,

If you would be kind enough to instruct as to how I can ship internationally from home I would be most appreciative. Can I PM you my phone number ? Or you send me yours , my phone plan has unlimited long distance. Or skype possibly, I am a computer dummy . Not raised with computers , much prefer bulldozers , sticks of dynamite (worked on a powder crew for a while when I was young ) and such toys . Electronics , computers and such are simply not my thing .

Sounds like an amazing collection you have there lonediver  :ahhh

I would definitely be interested in the SOG Nitrates and LM Camo Blasts and Camo Juice too if any are left

The Buck Navigator is also  on my hit list along with the Schrade Vise Grip - I'll get back to you on the model I'm missing.

I'm more than happy to pay for shipping to the UK - there's no rush on my part.....I don't get much free time to even hang around here on the forum at the moment.

Best of luck with the sales  :salute:

Hi lonediver,

Steve's shipping methods certainly work, he has mailed quite a few MT's to me from the States to the UK. I'm happy to pay the extra shipping costs for the right MT and like Tosh, I don't mind waiting.

I am particularly interested in Camo Leatherman tools, if you get a chance I'd love to hear what you've got.

Good luck with the sales

Hello lonediver, i havent crossed paths with you here yet,  :hatsoff:.
Id be interested in a Case Trapperlock or Mid folding hunter if you have one. At our house we use the USPS ship from home service that you mentioned. I believe its called Click to Ship? If you have regular postal service to your home, you pay for the shipping, set the day to pick up, and print the label. Also you have to use their shipping package or box. They are free, you can request some and your postman will drop them off. Its $5 for priority as long as it fits in the package. USPS website should be able to answer your questions tho. Good luck man.
oh also, what if you just list the items and prices, then take pics as requested, much like Grant's large lots.

Hi Guys ,

I know you all are champing at the bit , but  the pics etc. are taking some time . The wife is the photographer in this family . Cameras are another electronic gadget so far as I am concerned . She likes electronic gadgets and her fingers are smaller than mine for pushing little buttons and such . Laying out the shots tools folded , blades flayed out . group shots . we were some 8 plus hours today taking pics of some 80 to 100 multis . Have not transferred them off the camera to the computer yet . Assuming she gets them down loaded in the morning and shows me how to get them to this site , I should be getting some here tomorrow . What we got pics of today .

Two Kershaws vice grips , one has the adapter option kit with it and the other is stock.

Three tools from a company you are likely not familiar with , Troika from Germany .They made some neat unusual hammer based multis . The Adatalaus was one model I think , The O'toole  another and the third one name slips my mind at the moment . Troika was a german design company that made a few multis of which these were their best in my opinion . I am sure they are back in files here somewhere .

All my Schrade multis, some 10 of them including the I-quips .
Another tool that has Schrade tough tool style handles called Buckwing , instead of a plier head, it is equipped with a pruning shear head . it's tools in the handles are hex wrenches and a saw . A tool designed for archery/bow hunters with compound type bows .

Five Spyderco , - three variations of the Spyderench and two Spyderco abalone bar and knife combos . A small and a large one.

A Waltons thumb , a special fly fishing multi made in Colorado , last made some 25 - 30 years ago .

A Beretta  hammer based multi , a tool designed for shotgun enthusiats. Choke wrenches and such among it's tool assortment

The two vintage C.P. knife wrenches

All of my  Buck multis of which I have 14 individual models/variations . I also have some duplicates of some models in addition.

Some 20 different multis  branded Hoffritz We took a group shot of , any interest ? . Many of those are vintage some more modern .

A very vintage Rodgers and Sons escape tool of World War fame . This was the James bond tool of it's day .
A vintage Morley plier knife.

A canidate for one of my nominations of one of the worst multi tools to make it into production .

My four leatherman juices, three camos and a pro

Possibly as many as 20- 30 others.

Too many to list right now since they will be listed again with pics.

Something more I have to say . Years ago back in the 70's I got into a argument with a table saw . Dumb thing to do  take my word for it . 99.99999999...... % of the time the table saw wins the argument . I was not one of the lucky 0.0000000000001 %  to win an argument against the table saw . Point of the story is that my left hand got/was chewed upon by said table saw . Loosing multiple digits of the fingers , frozen joints in other fingers . Fine motor skills such as typing is SPITA ( severe pain in the ass ) for me . So I will apologize a bit for not responding to all PM's yet . It has already taken the better part of an hour to type the above message . I henpeck type with the index finger of my right hand , try that some time . See how fast you type . Not asking for pity , just understand .

I have seen requests and will try to accommodate as time allows . If I tried to type replies to all in my box I would not have pics ready to post . Tomorrow/monday by the latest  the above pics will be up .

Swiss, more  Leathermans, Bear Jaws, toolsall, Meyerco, Kutmaster and other assorted misc. will be here in the weeks to come. I have noted requests again but let me get pics to provide , it is time consuming .

Patience please .

No , I did not show the saw who's boss, it had already just given me a lesson in who was boss. I did learn to treat it with more respect . Say YES SIR and treat it with the respect it deserves. However some mistakes one makes in life CANNOT be undone , that was a  mistake I made and have paid for in the 35 + years since and will continue paying for until I am planted in the ground .

OK, the primary days chore  is to try to post pics, Patience I am not very good at computers and have to relearn at how to link pics to a post .

What is inside these cases ? Well time will tell , there is some 14 such cases, inside each case there is two, three "pages" such as this where "average" sized multis have been stored. There are many outsized multis that do not .

Well the pic below is not an actual "page" , but it is largely representative of what is contained on a page .

This pic is of the Hoffritz area of my collection consisting of 19 multis everything from a diving knife , folding leather pouch kit tool with all it's attachments, wrench knives, plier tools , a womens necklace pendant with fold out knive blades, a small aluminum "baseball " bat that was used to knock out/stun a fish this unscrews to reveal a knife for gutting/cleaning a fish . A clam/oyster schucker multi .

All 19 tools in this pic are branded Hoffritz. Will go to into more detail of this assortment later with individual pics later. It would be a shame to break this mini collection apart but is there any one seriosly interested in such an item ?

All right , It seems appropriate to put in my first multi. Left over drool, spittle free of charge. You guys know how it is you slobber over these things all the time and well they are just SO tasty . Any takers ? Fischer price is the maker .

(Hey I have to have a little fun here , this is going to be my last round-up talking about multitools. Once this sale is over I am moving on to other more current addictions ) But in the meantime you could learn something if I am allowed, I had /have been collecting for some 40 years .

The Schrade collection,

All three tough tools (Craftsman stamping is one) they are pre-taylor. They have the laminated jaws which should be identifiable in the pics. Three vice-grip/schrade colaborations all different jaws as can be seen .
Five Schrade tough chips , one of those in unpainted stainless has a Craftsman stamp but be assured it was Schrade made . The two i-quips and the Buckwing . More on this in a few minutes better close ups to follow this post .
