How about making a shank for the Leatherman Bit Adapter to go opposite the Phillips. What is the size of the shaft on those?

well i tried already one from SOG :D

i packed the stuff away already so i cant measure it now...i wont leave it that way, that empty slot bothers me a lot.
its one inch thick now so i cant go any further....i think ill get rid of that main blade, since its so usual and id like to have serrated >:D.

oh and i have one 1/4" hex shaped driver,hole-model,just like one on pocket wrench,i was thinking that...if i could make it fit on a same layer with phillips.

oh io got it all wrong sorry man! :-\ :D

i dont know,if you meant the one that u slide over phillips found on fuse etc?

i dont have an adapter like that so i dont know any measures.

i just tried to figure out how to put maybe one from sog...the driver for 1/4" bits.

well THANK you,its so nice and all,to see that some of u guys dig my work although its my new.but i try my best to make it so good that i could send it to our MOD gusrus to be checked out.

its not ready but not far away,i only have to make some useful, really useful implement to fill that empty place against phillips, but i think i have an idea already, just need some SS blade material, some grinding, shaping, fitting and polishing and hammerin down the rivets.

the only thing a cant pull out is how to make an Bail, that wont ruin easily the scales.hollow axle/pin would be the solution but i donno where to get one or how to make one really nicely.

This is what I was thinking of. It supposedly works on the Juice series Phillips which I have...the shank measures about 3/16"

LM Adapter

aaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your sae/inch sizes :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

yep now i got what u mean,so u suggest that i grind and make this..shank in..well almost like the same shape thats found in surges bit holder? and so for i could slip the adapter over shank and so on.not a bad idea at all Spork, not at all :salute: :salute:  :salute:

TWAK you :D :twak: :D :twak: :D

ill start to carry sak magnifier WHEN THEY MAKE IT STEEL OR BRASS FRAME. imo,no offence to anyone,to my eyes that plastic framed glass does not fit in full metal tool at all.to me alox is some vintage style and it would be ruined with any plastic.but thats my opinion an di really dont mean to say im right in anyway or to offend anyone who thinks differentsly.different strokes for different people.and one reason for sayin no to mag.is that i have no use for it :-\.

Yep...make a piece with a square shank to hold that adapter.

To open the tool, you can copy the position of the nail nick on the magnifier...on the end of the shank.

BTW - Because the end of the shank will probably sit above the liners...it can be wider on the end. The sides of the tool can be narrowed to fit the width of the Phillips layer if need be.

You added the saw, excellent!!  I agree with taking out the main blade, you'll still have the smaller blade and if you carry it with a primary knife you wouldn't really need it.  So the bottle opener or can opener won't slide along side the phillips, too bad.  I think this is the most useful SAK I have seen.

Here I am :D

What is it you want to know - the width of the phillips driver that the adapter fits onto? In mm I guess?

I used to come here a lot.

The squared head of driver on the Juice, and on the Core are actually identical in size, so I'll assume that this is the ideal size! The adapter certainly fits very snugly on there.

The heads are 5mm square.
I used to come here a lot.

Great work so far Mikko! I'm proud of you for jumping in and trying this sak mod instead of just thinking about it like I do. :)

So help me to understand this problem. Is it because the phillips driver is wider than regular blades, making it difficult to find something to go opposite of it? What does Victorinox normally put opposite the phillips? ???
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The phillips always has a Magnifying glass opposite.  I'm like Mikko, and am put off with it's plastic construction.
