$30 skeletool
on: November 04, 2015, 04:24:23 AM

At home depot and here.
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leatherman-Tool-Group-Skeletool-7-in-1-All-Purpose-Multi-Tool-830846/202580925?keyword=202580925

I can probably get to resell if you don't have access to the depot.

This doesnt usually happen but it shows "in stock" at my local store!  They have like 20 of them.  Lucky for me I don't have any need for one!

Got one today. I have owned many Skeletools in the past, but I am very impressed with the fit and finish of this particular one.

I went to local Home Depot during lunch and they had a full box or two of them. They had some pretty decent Christmas deals this year. If anyone is interested in a Skele, I might be persuaded to act as a broker.

$40+ is more the going rate on Amazon: http://camelcamelcamel.com/Leatherman-830846-Skeletool-Multitool/product/B000XU9NXW.

I'm going to hold off and cross my fingers that maybe they are selling that out because they are getting the Skeletool and Style CS Set in as an Xmas sale item. :)

Leatherman prices have increased 33% over the last couple years. A huge increase if you ask me. The Skeletool used to be $35 all day. I remember buying ST300's on Amazon for $35 as well. Waves were about $45-$50. Now those prices are the deals and normal prices are much higher.

Is that American dollars?!

I probably would never buy a single Leatherman if I had to pay $300 for a Wave.

Just makes me want to take a trip and buy like 500 tools to sell for half of what they are charging.

No that is NZ dollars. Works out to about US$130 and US$190. Couple days ago in an outdoor shop they had a Surge for US$200.

Wow! Guess it's much better for you to buy tools off the forum and have them shipped.

I checked my local Home Depot store online. They claimed that my local store had 61 in stock.I took the time to travel to the store only to discover they had none in stock and the clerk was unaware of the existence of this tool. So much for the accuracy of their computerized inventory. LOL.

This happened to me when the Wingman was released. Most likely they have not set up the Christmas tool display yet and they actually do have them in the store, but they are sitting in the warehouse of the store waiting to be put out on display. They scan them when they come in, not when they get put out.

Thanks for the explanation, this does make more sense.

I would say if you go back in a week they will be on display for sure. One way to know without going or calling is to just check how many they have in stock. If the number declines you know they are on display and someone has purchased one.

Got one today. Great deal. I wonder how they can sell them for so cheap and still make a profit?

Maybe. It just seems odd that they are allowed to sell them for half the retail price.  Makes me think leatherman gets a huge profit margin at $50. They can sell them cheaper but since people will pay for the name they can hike the price up

I so wish they would mark down the Wave (without clearing it out or anything) - I would pick up a spare or two
