Yeah, i've definitely noticed that most sporks are much more circular than a normal spoon. Makes it kind of awkward to cram into the old throat hole. I do like the looks of that narrow-headed spork.

MoMA ramen spork and a promotional sporkish Asian spoon from NongShim Noodles. I've not been able to find the Nongshim spork...apparently it came with certain packages of their noodles.

That Ramen spork looks.... kind of scary actually..... but also pretty cool.

I wonder how useful it wold be for EDE (every day eating) since it looks like using it as a spoon would require a trip to the emergency room for dessert.   :ahhh

Yesterday at lunch I used my eat 'n' tool for the first time.  I was impressed with how well the tines were able to pickup watermelon.

Bought a couple of the folding ones above for testing after reading this thread. Really not my cup of tea. They are too springy/soft/bendy for me, and I find them somewhat awkward to hold on cause of their shape (a big, protruding spoon/fork at the opposite end of the handle when using a fork/spoon is not very ergonomic, the Light My Fire (little, medium, and XM) actually feels better to me). Tastes differ.

I'll join the topic with this spnife(?). My father had the one to the right (unknown to me) but I found the left one second hand. Has anyone seen anything like it? Produced by Frost (now part of Mora) and the spoon part is fairly rough but it seems to be factory pinned.

I don't like bananas for the exact same reason.

:nanadance:

I have never heard of a sporf before, but I do have a few of them.  I know we have discussed in the past here whether they qualified as sporks or not.... I suppose having a new name for them makes perfect sense.

Although I don't know if "sporf" is what I would have come up with...

For the most part, I think Wikipedia is far superior to the old Encyclopedia Brittania from my day.... but things like this make me wonder if the progress was worth it.  I don't think there would ever be this kind of info in EB:

Quote
Chopfork – A utensil with a fork at one end and chopsticks/tongs at the other.[1]
Chork – Pointed and slightly curved tongs, which can be used like chopsticks (as pincers) or as a fork (for spearing).[2][3] A different kind of chork is a fork with a split handle, which can be broken in half to make two chopsticks.[4]
Forkchops – Used in a pair, these are basically a pair of chopsticks with a small fork and knife on the non-pointed ends.[5]
Knork – A fork with edge tines sharpened or serrated, manufactured in Newton, Kansas.
Pastry Fork - A fork with a cutting edge along one of the tines.
Spoon Straw – A scoop-ended drinking straw intended for slushies and milkshakes.
Sporf – A utensil consisting of a spoon on one end, a fork on the other, and edge tines that are sharpened or serrated.
    Spork – Spoon and Fork
Splayd – Spoon and Fork and Knife
    Spife – Spoon and Knife

While reading this all I could think of is that "Knork" is the sound that Siamese twin elephants make when they are joined at the trunk and they try to trumpet.

May be unsuitable for work, but is well worth it....

The spoon is not intended for eating in this case...it's a fish gutting knife and the spoon is used to scrape out the blood line.

Titanium, no metal taste and doesn't break like plastic. But... nothing makes food taste better than eating with chopsticks.   :o

Honestly they do suck... very small spoon, very short handle, knife only works on draw cuts (0 push cutting, not even paper).
I ate half my stew with it today, got annoyed, used it as a long spoon and cut with my Spyderco.

All in all cool 6 USD (8 Euros + 5 Euros shipping for me) toy with Ka-Bar marks, great look, and a badge for me... but utterly useless  :-\

Thank again I'm not used to sporks, but my hobo knife usually does an awesome job.

What possessed them to make the bowl so small? I was interested until I saw the photo Xelkos posted of the Kabar next to a Snow Peak.

I agree- they certainly seem worth the money, and I'll probably get one eventually for just that reason.

Design-wise they are good sporks, but a bit flimsy.
