Just found out that I have not one.... but twoooo X-ray diffraction lab reports due in the morning that I thought were due on Wednesday...... Each is likely to take 3+ hours. This is much much less than ideal......
Hang in there buddy! I once found out about a calculus midterm about an hour before it happened... teacher had a bad habit of waiting until the class before to announce tests, and I had missed the previous one. Good luck!

Seeing my old post brings up a few things

1) instead of a skeletool I now carry a Wave or Charge in school.

2) We now have 2 full time security guards. With patrol cars and all.

I've been there brother, your labs sound a little more intense though, all mine are pretty much charts, maps, and graphing.

And my caffiene intake is done on school days, but my weekends right now are another story.......

Had I known the other one was due it wouldn't be bad, but really I dont even know how to do it, and haven't even finished the first to begin trying to do it. I'm a shambles lol. I'm also not the type to not do work, so I won't be able to go into class without having this thing done. Done right? Maybe not, but it'll be done!

I'm the same way!!!

Me and my lab partners (both mothers, both served in the military, both are upper 40's) always get together to work on labs and we will sit there and struggle for 10 hours over night lol

Fortunetly they are in my Oceanography and Geology. So we can knock everything out at one

Did someone say caffeine? I happen to be sitting here at 12:30 AM local time and I'm drinking a cup of coffee.  College for me ended over 20 years ago but I still have some memories that haven't faded completely away. One memory is of the many papers that were finished at 07:30 that had to be turned in by 08:00. I was famous for that, and I was doing it with a typewriter not a computer.  I didn't even get a word processor until I was a senior. They either weren't available or they were very expensive.  Consider yourself lucky that you don't have to retype a whole page or change all of your notations every time you edit your paper.  Man, do I ever feel old right now.  You kids get off my lawn!

Welcome back yall :D I start tomorrow my first day at a real university.

University of West Florida. My classes are MWF and 2 online courses.

I'm taking Shipwreck Archeology, Music Appreciation, International Politics, and Western Perspectives.

Talk about over prepared! I'm bringing my EDC collection with me. I'll be driving an hour commute to school in my girlfriends car, so any luxurys I had in my truck are now in bags.

My school bag is a 5.11 Rush 24. And the current EDC bag is a Maxpedition Larkspur.

What's a college?

Age range provided so you can work out your local equivalency.

PrimarySchool (5-13) - Vic Classic (The same one I still carry.)

High School (13 - 15) Myerchin Folder. I can't recall the model off hand, but looking at their online store, it would have been equivalent to their "Crew" model.

University of Life (15+) - I was rocking various folders and a Vic Climber until I discovered Leatherman.

I got to Bemidji State University in northern Minnesota, and am getting a B.S. in Geography with an emphasis on GIS.

Carry a Vic Manager every day without exception, as well as a 91/93mm victorinox that is never the same model two days in a row. Never had an issue carrying or using anything on campus. But BSU isn't like most campuses...

The amount of outdoors-minded people is astonishing, so no one bats an eye at a pocket knife. Over 50% of the student population wears camo and boots every day. The campus even has it's own sanctioned gun storage facility for students that live on campus and go hunting, so it's commonplace in the fall and spring to see students walking around campus with cased guns.. A little different than most schools I'd say. BSU is a fun school, there's always somewhere to have a good time  :drink:

Yeah there are storage lockers located below the campus dining hall, and all you have to do is provide your own padlock and register with the Public Safety department. Easy and a cool service that makes BSU unique. There is also a room on campus designated for students to clean fish and game, with large stainless steel sinks and countertops as well as a freezer to put bagged wastes and scraps that is taken out weekly. I've seen everything from walleyes, grouse, and even a whitetail doe cleaned in that room. Gotta love it :)

I quit my job last summer and went back to school to finish the degree I should have gotten a decade ago. I carry a Vic Spirit most of the time. It annoys me that we're not allowed to carry an actual knife on campus, this past semester has been the first time in years I've gone without a folder.

By the way, in response to questions on the previous page, "College" and "University" tend to be pretty much interchangeable in American colloquial speech. A "University" means pretty much the same thing as anywhere else, a four-year school that you have to apply to and be accepted to attend. "College" can either be a sub-school within a university ("The College of Business at the University of California") or it can be a "Community" or "City" College, a two-year school that anybody can attend and which is much less expensive than a university. It's common to attend a Community College for two years and then transfer to a University for two more, not just because it saves money but because it's a way for people without the High School grades or test scores to go to University directly to get into one, and also does the same for people returning to education later in life. (As is my situation.)

In common speech, though, "University" tends to only be used when saying the name of a specific school. Someone who goes to University is a "college student," a high school student might take "college prep" classes before university, etc.

Ah, well here in Australia college is generally referring to high school, although it can also refer to university sometimes.

Interesting, I think that's a uniquely Australian thing as well, I've never heard of that being the case in UK English. (Aside from a few secondary schools having "College" in their name.)

A couple of weeks ago there was a student in the hallway who was stopped by a security officer who saw a pocket clip.

UWF rules are very generic and include the allowance of a "general pocket knife"

Well after the hassle, the kid got his knife back. It was a kershaw leek I believe.

But in order to avoid any hassle I emailed security and got this response, very pleased!

When I was in school from 95 to '05, I carried a Tinker, then Soldier, then Super Tinker. I had a Classic on my keys most of that time.

It was afternoons and evenings in Electronics Engineering Technology at DeVry while I worked full time.  I was an electrical technician, so those SAKs saw frequent use.

The Classic saw some use in school in the electronics lab. At that time, I wore it on a separable key chain with the SAK as the only thing on one side. So it was WITH my keys, but not impeded so much.

In retrospect, a plier-based MT would have been handier as a technician. But I also carried a tool belt for a while. I had proper tools, but also a sore back from it.

I just got my MA in December.  Over the years what I have carried has changed, most recently I have a knife less fuse that lived in my bag and a dozen SAKs and SOGs in my room.
