I got some new toys in today :mail: I'll share those tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, I'm not sure what I'll carry tomorrow....thinking the wave. We'll see

Can't wait to see what you got and what you carry

The SOG Fasthawk. I was initially going to get a gerber gator Jr for yard work but I wanted something different that suited me more. So far I can say that I have been really pleased with most SOG products. Tool, knife, light, and now axe. They're fit and finish is rather impressive. This is the only axe/tomahawk I own. I didn't need anything heavy or ridiculously tough. Just something I can chop down some branches and  over.

Did somebody say Spyderco?

Just got the Centofante 3 in today. Such class. It was actually the first Spyderco I wanted but I ended up getting the Tenacious (sold it) then the Native. Now I have this beauty. Slim, lightweight, great balance, vg-10 steel, and great length. Fills the palm but it doesn't look like a "tactical" folder. I think I've caught the Spydie bug

Dedicated folders are one area in which I haven't had much interest for some reason.  I got a LM Crater c33 a long while back, but didn't end up carrying it much.  I guess a SAK/MT combo proved to be all I cared to carry for tools, especially if the MT has a OHO blade.  Even if it doesn't, I don't see it as a necessity to the point that I feel the need to carry a folder.  My line of work doesn't require it really anyway.

I was there with you for a while. With my new line of work it became more justifiable to carry one. Also, one of the biggest reasons I carry one now is because of ergonomics. If I'm cutting all the time it's nice to use a knife designed for a knife not pliers.

Exactly :salute:  If I had a job with frequent or extended periods of cutting, I would likely want a folder.  I like them and all, but just don't need one, or really have space for one with all that I already carry.

It's been an interesting few weeks. Life has gotten really busy, but I've been consistently narrowing down my carry. Got a few more surprises coming up. I'll take a pic of some new stuff later

Nice Spydercos. I still miss the Delica that I traded off a while ago. It didn't have a super-duper blade steel, just the next basic one they started using after AUS8. But it held an edge noticeably better than my SAKs.

What IS your line of work, where you're cutting all the time? I'm not sure, but I seem to remember you're an electrician?

Thanks. Yes electrician. I'm usually cutting everything from pull string, boxes, tape, paper, zip ties...the list goes on. I've really gotten accustomed to using a good plan edge blade. Serrations are nice for a couple task but for overall performance I'll go for a plain edge. I must add that it helps to have a good sharpener. Using the Spyderco Sharpmaker is what made the difference to me.

Me too, on all counts. (esp. the Sharpmaker)

For zip ties, nothing beats a small diagonal cutter, but a sharp point of a knife will do in a pinch.

Have you tried a Kershaw? I like the Spydercos, but they are SO expensive, and the deployment nub on the backs of some of the Kershaw blades are quicker to deploy. The problem is they use their own proprietary steel names, so it's hard to know which ones have which specs. I almost need a table to decode them.

I have a Cryo that I like to use. I was considering the shallot. Haven't pulled the trigger yet on one.

"newest additions." I've has all three of these tools and they have made their way back. The only difference being this is a polished Sideclip. Never thought I'd get one, but traded for one with a member here and got a Micra to pair it with. After using the CS Recon extensively I wanted to give the Code 4 another go. So here it is. I have one more recently acquired gem....but more on that later. Much later
