I want to get the new CA legal Kershaw Launch when it comes out.
My cheap ass switchblade, opening spring is very weak, very bad lock up, lots play in all direction, lock fail under 3 lbs of pressure.(Image removed from quote.)
Personally I don't see the appeal of auto knives. Having no restriction on them means I don't have the "cant get them, must have them" appeal that I see with some. Why include the balisongs in the auto thread?

You can buy loads of cheapo ones at any market...And the OP included a balisong so.. why the smurf not?
Spring-assisted folders, like many SOGs and Kershaws, are effectively auto knives with the same (or better) speed of deployment of autos, but without the legal implications.I don't contend that they are objectively better or worse than traditional autos, but they are a viable and often less spendy alternative for the guy who wants lightning-fast deployment.(Image removed from quote.)Kershaw Knockout.(Image removed from quote.)SOG Aegis.

You can get a legit auto in CA as long as the blade is under 2".

Ya that gerber by the sounds of it qualifies as an auto which are prohibited weapons in Canada. Unless its by a technicality since its a slider and not a button? I doubt anyone really cares who sells them though.I never understood why ballisongs were prohibited here as well. They take much longer to open than any flick open benchmade like the griptilian, and fixes blades which are legal can do much more damage.
