While I'm not surprised that they haven't been mentioned, what about the "girl's" cartoons like:

The Care Bears

I also liked some of the younger kid cartoons like Teddy Ruxpin.

Galaxy Rangers. Early-mid 80s and for the target demographic, surprisingly mature. The theme song was hideous, but the art is as good as a lot of what you find in cell drawn anime today. I ran into an episode a few years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised how well it had stood up to the passage of time.

How did hardcore Star Wars fan boys like Micah and I forget about the Droids and Ewoks cartoons?
