What is in this deep drawer?
on: July 11, 2016, 12:24:25 AM
As I searched for a particular item, I thought it might be ok to take photos of everything I have in this one deep drawer and to post them here for your viewing pleasures. I think you will find that this drawer has a little of a lot of things. I also store some of my Leathermans that I keep in an EDC rotation when I need them. These are front, top, and center for easy access.

Enough of that...time to see just what is hiding in this drawer...

First up is an Eton FR400 all weather emergency radio.

An Outbound carbiner with built in bottle opener and swing out pen knife.

I also stash some new in package multi-tools in this drawer.

A discontinued Remington Wingmaster.

2x Irwin Vice-Grips Multi-Pliers 5WR.

A Leatherman Fuse and Monarch 400 combo package.

This Outdoor Edge Trek Tool.

A 50th Anniversary Buck 110.

This drawer is also my old flashlight graveyard. I have better now, but can't throw them away...so they are in here decommissioned.

A Ruko emergency whistle and knife sharpener, A carabiner/button compass, and a camo small multi-tool.

This Traveler combo kit.

Another cheap camo knife.

I also store a few folding shovels in here also.

This green folding shovel.

A Gerber version.

And this versatile system of saw, axe/hammer, and shovel.

Fiskars Cuts+More scissors.

Duramax Pro hand saw.

This small knife plus fire steel set.

3 Astroplast kits.

This cheap Swiss Master International knife set. I bought these at the dollar store for 3 bucks...I couldn't resist the Swiss logo. 189 Euros...in their dreams I am sure.

2 sets of stone arrow heads.

I also dump a lot of the True Utility stuff in this drawer.

This TelePen.

The KeyTool.

This MicroTool.

CashStash.

This Compact MicroLite.

MiniDriver.

A pair of mosquito traps...just because they get big in these parts. :)

Talk about random stuff...how about a telescopic marshmallow/hotdog camp stick.

Barkley's Fishing multi-tool.

Compass/thermometer/emergency whistle.

Nite Ize S-Biner, a Munkees water proof key container, and a combo carabiner/thermometer/compass.

More key fobs with D carabiners.

Aquamira Frontier emergency filter system.

A Combo compass/led lantern.

This wacky combo radio/compass/flashlight. Wacky in that it isn't water proof.

Part of my EDC rotation, a Leatherman Core with Monarch 300 flashlight.

Another EDC rotation item, a Leatherman Wave.

Before you ask, I have retired the Leatherman knife-less Fuse.

So there you have it. A fairly broad and eclectic assortment of stuff. What I did not take photos of are the various semi empty Leatherman boxes that line the bottom of the drawer.

I hope you enjoyed this voyeuristic look into one of my drawers.  :salute:  :)

I wish you lived near me.  Since you'll apparently buy almost anything I could make a nice living.  I liked the mosquito traps. I just about snorted my coffee when I saw them.

Amazing. 4.5 years of hanging around these forums, yet everytime you post one of these "drawer" threads I learn new stuff :tu:

I didn't know (but I'm not surprised) that Outdoor Edge made a multitool. Do you know how the quality is/was on them.

They made two models as far as I know. I have both of them.

1. The Trek Tool shown here.
2. The Sportsman Tool for bow-hunters.

These are of good quality. Not as high as a Leatherman, but definitely not a cheaply made tool either.

Alan K. not exactly everything. I do like outdoor survival gear however, no matter how kitch is may be.

Some neat stuff!   :tu:

Are those mosquito traps big enough for the ones in your area?

And this versatile system of saw, axe/hammer, and shovel.

Curious about this. Who is the maker? Does it seem to be of reasonable quality?

No clue who makes it other than it is made in China. No brand name on the box when I first got it from the Tractor Supply Centre store (TSC).

It is a bit ingenious in how it works. The pin is fitted to the saw. To use the axe head or shovel, insert the saw into the handle until the fixed pin mates with a similar sized hole in the handle. Inserting either axe or shovel until the pin  mates with a like hole on the various attachment. To release either implement, simply depress the pin until the attachment can be pulled off. To use the saw, simply depress the pin to such an extent that it is moved below the matching hole on the handle. Gently pull out the saw - rotate - and re-attache it. There is a similar axe sold as a 4 piece with an added knife blade.

The issue with this set up, everything rattles terribly. I have tried it on a few light duty things and it seems solid enough despite the low tolerances in build.

Poncho65, They sold them last year in their Canadian branch. I do know that US stores and Canadian stores tend to stock completely different things.

ReamerPunch, that is because they are. I bought 3 of them on sale. Not as elegant as the Vice-Grip/Schrade collaboration of the past.

Nice thread! I like seeing your pics and huge collection, there's always something new to find.

 :tu:

Glad to see the Outdoor Edge MT is a bit above the typical Chinese crappy tools. I have appreciation for the brand, and consider it much under appreciated amongst non hunters and the community in general.

I've been quite pleased with all their products so far, especially for the money.
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest
