Some mighty nice cutlery on show! Bit of a bummer about the 6347, but happy to have done the trade. I'm looking forward to carrying the Juice Pro next month!

Mustang and an SW 8OT
:like: The 8OT is a great example of a great knife!

I don't have an 8OT with Schrade branding, but I do have this "Old Crafty" 9547. It's an 8OT that Schrade manufactured under contract to Sears. My research has led me to believe it was manufactured in 1973.

Thanks, Steve!

Edit: here are eight more! This is a family portrait of my electrician's knives. All are Camillus 27s unless otherwise noted. From left to right:

  • Late 1970s to late 1980s with Xcelite etch. This is a carrier.
  • Late 1980s to 2007 that has been re-covered in Micarta. It was badly abused and needed help. I'd say my knife mechanic did a good job!
  • A late 1980s to 2007 with Xcelite etch. This one has never been used or carried.
  • Late 1970s to late 1980s with Channellock etch.
  • Another late 1970s to late 1980s with Xcelite etch.
  • Camillus TL-29. "U.S.N." stamped on mark side cover. Likely WWII era.
  • 1974 Case 12031L.
  • Robeson made between 1917 and 1939. I know I won't look as good when I'm as old as this knife!

I really :like: those 72s. Will probably be a while before I find a good one at a price I'm willing to pay, though.

Nice collection of electrician knives FX.  They sure made these knives robust.

I was looking thru the Case site and I tentatively thing a Canoe or Sway back are the front runners.  While I love a small trad I have never held a Canoe and like the shape and blades.  Either way I really really like the Black Sycamore cover material so I am getting one in that for sure.  The Half Whittler also looks nice but I'm leaning heavy towards the Canoe or Sway back.

Thanks! They sure did make the electrician's knives pretty stout.

I used to have a Canoe. They have a nice shape and are very slim. These days I find myself drawn to two-blade jacks, so I'm thinking my next Case will be a 62032 or a 62087. I also intend to find a Schrade 833UH that's suitable for carry and a factory-fresh 33OT.

Those are right up there for my likes too.  Because I like the Sway so much I am so tempted but I have to tell myself I never had a Canoe and I have a lot of smaller knives already.

Really curious about the Black Sycamore.

Today I'll carry 25 1/2 and Tribal Lock.

I am struck with the thought that I don't really have a true Wharncliffe trad in my little collection.  I must admit I've not felt compelled to before now though.
You might want to look at the CASE Seahorse Whittier.
I really love their wharnies.
