More great carries, y'awl! :tu:

I swapped the 77OT for a big ol' honker of a fish knife and added a Schrade 108OT. The 108OT is being used to practice my sharpening (which seems to be improving).

The pocket wear and use of the ages does make that a very handsome knife.

I dug these out of storage I little bit ago, I actually found one hidden in a basement joist, the other I don’t remember, but I did find it,

Some great trads, as awlways! :tu:

I went with a slightly smaller fish knife today. The small toothpick pattern is starting to grow on me. The 108OT is likely to rotate out soon, as I found a much better knife to practice my sharpening on...

Did you find these in the Detroit area or before you moved from the East, iirc, Philly area or east Pennsylvania.

That is what suspected.  There is a YouTube video on the history of Ka-Bar knife company and tells when the name was finally adopted by the manufacturer instead a brand.

Early history is even rooted to a knife works started by grandsons of Joseph Case.

If I find it again I will try to place a link in this thread. 😉

Found it, on You Tube, “The Ka-Bar Story” full documentary, search and it should come up. From my phone can not get the link to copy.

The early American cutlery industry was intertwined and intermarried to a shocking degree.    :o.   :D
