Some excellent choices lately, as usual! :tu:

This one isn't likely to see much use, but I dropped it in my pocket just for the heck of it. An early Schrade 108OT with Walden on the tang.

My last day of trads for a while as I am signed up for back to back SAK challenges starting tomorrow.  So what to carry today? Not much going on, go see my daughter in a musical,,,, maybe re-string a guitar. I felt like the Case Cigar Jack would get me through the day with no problems.

That's a real beauty Gdad.   :tu:

So I ordered another sheath from the guy on Etsy who made the sheath for my Yellowjacket Trapper. For this one I specified a sheath sized to fit a medium Stockman, something about 3.67” closed or thereabouts.

Didn’t think it would get here so fast and need some recommendations on some nice Stockman either new or used for sale. Kinda like you guys did for my Trapper.

Picture of a Traditional because it feels like something that is actually suppose to be here.

I’m going to suggest a Buck 301 or Case 47 pattern, both of which are 3 7/8” closed.

If you would prefer something slightly smaller, a Case 18 pattern and 032 pattern are both 3 5/8” closed.

Top to bottom:

Buck 301
Case 18 pattern

I agree the CASE 47 and Buck 301 are excellent Stockman patterns in the original size.

Camillus 66 and 67 models are also top notch.

Will caution you, for Buck 301, I would suggest if looking at an older model, select a model that has the date code symbol on the tang. Buck started the tang code in 1986 with the < mark.
Camillus started making the 301s for Buck in 1972, through 1986.  The Buck brought in house in 1987.
Before that the 301 was made by Schrade. Schrade used a hallow pivot pin, which had a high failure experience and was costing Buck $s on warranty claims as to the reason for Camillus winning the contract.

If you visit the Buck web site, you should be able to locate the latest key for date codes and the Tang stamp styles utilized.

I like the CASE 47, as it is full size and the main blade is styled with the full clip style belly. The Medium use a slim style clip.

Buck also made the 700 series. A hardy version of the 300 series.  A 701 is and excellent stockman.

Also, Buck was one of the first to use 3 back springs on the Stockman.

Most used two, one for the minor blades, and one for the main blade. Also, later styles yet used two back springs, with the main blade in the center, using both backsprings on its pivot. and the minor blades having their own on the opposite pivot.
Also, another innovation on the stockman is the Sheepfoot blade was moved to the center position as it was suspected it was the most used blade by the majority of stockman owners.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Love my Case #18 Stockman.  I really didn't care for my Buck Stockman (303) , but they get enough love that mine might have been a bit of a outlier in terms of quality.   :dunno:

Nice Peanut Gareth👍

Buck named the 303, the CADET!  Yes a smaller Stockman pattern, a tad small for my paws.  The 703 was thicker and easier for me to grip and use.

Today, I found myself attracted to a Amber bone again. Selected a Texas Jack :salute:  At 3-1/2” it fits ok in my hand as well as the medium sheath.
